In a city with a number of taxi service companies, how does one compete, especially as the newcomer in town? Orange Cab Company is the newest taxi service to open in Seattle, and its claim to fame is that it has the cleanest fleet in the area, which may very well be true. No one has challenged the claim yet. Rates are standard for the area. Cabs are computer dispatched. The company has corporate accounts, non-smoking cars and airport service, and it does package delivery.

A great experience
My bride of 40 years (the 26th of May) surprised me with a quick trip on the "Empire Builder" of Amtrak which runs through here in Libby. We boarded Wed. evening at 11:pm and were shown to a sleeping compartment complete with bathroom and shower and settled in for the ride to Seattle. It's been 47 years since I have been on a train and about the same for Bev so this was a real different experience for both of us. The plan was to have a Great seafood dinner and then go to a club and hear some good jazz or blues. We did have the fantastic dinner at Ivar's where we had last been about 20 years earlier when we lived in Coeur D' Alene. By the time we finished dinner we both agreed to pass on the club deal and return to the hotel. Next day we had till 4:45 pm for our return trip to Libby so we decided to catch the Bainbridge ferry across the sound and return to get some nice pic's on the way. After breakfast we hailed a Orange cab and headed for the ferry terminal. When we arrived there I paid the driver and we got out of the cab. A couple of minuets later Bev said "did you get the camera case?" ( had been carrying it) and I replied no I thought you had it. Panic!!! well I found a phone booth right there and started looking for the phone # of the cab co. and called it a couple of times on my cell but got a disconnect twice for some reason. Well we were really bummed out and feeling pretty dumb when all of a sudden we hear a car honk and you guessed it....here in the north bound lane holding up his entire inside lane was our driver smiling and holding up our camera bag. I crossed the south bound traffic and grabbed it and he and his next fare. Sure glad I over tipped him for the short ride just a short time earlier. It sure restores your faith in human nature at least it did for us.

Bad drivers
I witnessed a driver of an orange cab cut off 2 drivers. He must have been going at least 80mph and I think he had someone else in the cab with him. They don't use their signals either. Crazy drivers and get this, they have a crappy review on the BBB. http://www.thebbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=43000096
