Back to EWA Hotel Super staff We wish to express our sincere thanks to the staff at EWA for once again making our stay enjoyable. While EWA (the building) is certainly in need of a makeover, it is blessed with the most friendly and helpful staff to be found anywhere. Thank you so much.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 28 2009 Low Cost for Waikiki; Don't Expect Much I'm not that picky when it comes to hotel rooms in Hawaii and will usually book the least expensive room in a decent location. This has worked well in the past, but was taken aback when I first saw the standard room at this hotel. It was on the small size, with dirty-looking carpet, and dirty-looking walls. The queen-sized bed took up about 1/3 of the total area aside from the bathroom section. The sheets and bedspread look/feel clean, and the bathroom also looked clean. Carpets are really off-putting, and must be 10 years old or more. Outside hallway carpet is the same, and is loose, with some edges held down with good old duct tape. Elevator feels unclean.

Reviewed by: TR from on Feb 07 2009 Don't go by other reviews. A very cheap hotel.. The biggest mistake I did was going by the other reviews posted here and booking this hotel. Infact I booked their deluxe studio expecting it to be decent. I wasn't expecting 4*, 5* comfort and just had some reasonable expecations. The hotel turned out to be very cheap looking, filthy at places (a very bad carpet that my wife won't let our kid down without the shoes), the occupancy is just for 2 (with 2 single beds that they call double beds) while it promised for 4, stinky corridors, just one person manning the front desk with a standard answer "manager not in town. come tomorrow sir".

Reviewed by: golfgrll from on Jul 31 2008 THE ALHOLA SPIRIT PREVAILS We heard of this hotel from our son who convinced us to stay. The staff really do make this hotel work. Improvements to the outside and inside were in progress when we stayed. New beds were being installed and I understand painting and carpeting are on the menu for 2007. Great location makes this property ideal. Ideally priced and affordable for a long term stay. The extras like a paper with coffee and donut in the morning with the internet cafe available at a min. charge are great. We enjoyed this hotel so much that we have planned a return for a months stay.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 21 2007 Ewa was the best hotel ever! We'll be back! I loved everything! I was so comfortable, got assistance wherever I went.... It was like an Aloha hotel... I was treated like I was at home and not somewhere else!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 27 2006 The perfect quiet, little hotel! Not glitzy or fancy, this hotel was a perfect place to stay for us while attending a family wedding and vacationing. The service was friendly and efficient. The rooms are unpretentious, but just what you need to rest and sleep. And it's far enough away from the beach strip to be quiet, but within a very short walking distance. We'd go back.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 14 2005 Stayed here 3 different times; for two weeks; for one month; again for one month! We are a married, retired, couple and we are "world travelers". This is a very good, budget hotel; it has the best prices anywhere in Waikiki. Though the hallways are a bit dim and most of the carpet probably should be replaced, we still think it is a decent place to stay. The room furnishings are somewhat outdated, but is sturdy and clean. The hotel staff is friendly and courteous. The maid service is every other day, so you don't get fresh new towels each day, but there is a washer & dryer on every other floor. I usually bring a couple towels from home. The rooms with two beds are fairly good sized; some of them have a small fridge, and a cooktop.(cooktop may, or may not, work) No microwaves, coffee makers, toasters, ricemakers, etc.are included. You can rent small appliances from the hotel. They charge $60 a month for a coffee maker. Don't know the daily charge. We went to Long's Drugstore and bought a coffee maker on sale for $12.00; we just left the coffee maker behind when we checked out after our one month stay at the hotel. Most of the rooms facing the street have lanais with a little table and two chairs; they are a little higher priced than the rooms without lanais. There is a nice Internet Cafe on the 2nd floor. There is a parking garage at the hotel that charges a nominal daily fee.
