If you're not too concerned about frills and amenities, this is the place to stay. Rooms provide very little, save a clean place to rest your head and a small refrigerator for cold drinks. There is no air-conditioning, but ceiling fans do their best to keep you cool. Back in 1969 this was Cozumel's original diver's hotel. Though the lodgings are spartan, there are plenty of nearby destinations to keep guests happy. Plaza Central is only a short walk away, and plenty of dive shops, where you can book a trip to the reefs, are just around the corner.

They DO have A/C and they are very nice
I visited there in July 2004, and it was great. at such a cheap price, you cannot expect to have things such as a pool, etc. but there is a nice court yard, with space to eat, the rooms are clean, there is a TV and a mini fridge in the room, and the staff is friendly and competent. When we visited, we were with bilingual people, so it wasn't much of an issue that they had limited english. but even when those friends were not around to translate, their limited english, along with my much more limited spanish combined to allow us to communicate well enough.
