Back to Days Inn Rivergate Nice hotel and location for the money. I booked this hotel online for $62 a night and it was very convenient to all the attractions (Rock City, Ruby Falls, Incline Railway, etc..) Weekday rates are cheaper than weekend rate. A car is needed to get to these locations about 10 minutes or so away. A free shuttle is available to the Tennessee Aquarium, River Walk, and other downtown attractions. The aquarium is also very impressive. There is a restaurant connected to a hotel which serves good food and excellent desserts (I bought a cheesecake and chocolate eclair to take home.) The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They gave me several coupons to the various restaurants downtown. The room is clean and comfortable for my three nights of stay. Many restaurants are located on Market Street which is about 6 blocks from the hotel. The free shuttle is available to these locations until 11:00 PM on weekdays. There are a lot of outside seatings at these restaurants for outdoor relaxation in the evenings. USA Today is available daily from the hotel. I really enjoy my trip to Chattanooga. The views from Lookout Mountain are fantastic. I highly recommend this trip for an economical vacation. Overall, the hotel is great for a restful nice of sleep before heading out for sightseeing. The only noise is the occasional slamming of the door as people leave the room. However, it does not affect my stay at the hotel.
Reviewed by: AnhHue from on Jun 21 2009 Good Location but no free breakfast This Days Inn is in need of a little exterior care, but the rooms are nice enough. Since the City Cafe is attached to the motel (10% discount when you show your door key), they don't provide the usual free continental breakfast.
Reviewed by: Jay from on May 03 2009 Middle of the Road I selected this hotel for a spur-of-the-moment overnight stay with my kids based on the favorable reviews I read on this website. The room availability was good, the temperature comfortable, and the size and layout sufficient. However, when it came time to bed down for the night, we had to call housekeeping to come change the sheets on one bed. It didn't appear they had been changed. Not only that, the bedspread was nasty. The housekeeper was good enough to notice that and change it out without having to be asked. The staff was great and very helpful, but we found the room and bathtub to be less clean than we would have liked. Location -- great. Price -- good. Amenities -- free high-speed internet great; pool was closed because of storm damage; no lobby breakfast (that's always a plus); vending machines wouldn't accept our bills. Would we return? Maybe.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 01 2008 Will Return and RECOMEND!!! We stayed here for 3 days, I must say everything was very clean, every employee we made contact with was very pleasant and helpful. City Cafe is built right on to the hotel at a 10% discount. The price of meals are excellent for the hugh portions of food they give you. One of the best things was the free Electric Shuttle bus which had a stop right by the hotel, which took us to all the attractions that we had planned to visit. We never needed the car until it was time to leave, and we felt that the location was very safe, for us, and the car. Everything just turned out perfect!! Several friends stayed across the street at another hotel and all had a very bad experience with service, and cleanliness for the price they paid. It's worth the money, had a great time, RECOMEND to others.

Reviewed by: Serena Panter from on Jun 20 2008 Great stay! My two sisters and I just spent our yearly sister time at your facility while we enjoyed your area. I wanted to thank you for a pleasant stay. The service was great, any questions we had about the area and how to get somewhere were answered in a pleasant manner.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 19 2008 Filthly room, air conditioner smelled like mold There was mold on the furniture and airconditioning unit, when we turned it on to get the room cooled down we quickly had to turn it off because the air smelled like mold. No vent in the tiny bathroom, the carpet was so dirty we didn't step on it with our bare feet, and we had wished we had brought our own sheets. They put us in room 201 directly above the 24 hour bar so we never slept all night hearing the music and laughter and talking. It was awful. We asked for a different room that was quieter for the next night and forgot our cell phone charger plugged in by the bed, we called right away and they said no one in house keeping found it ?? Out $30.00 for a new one. We only stayed there because of a family wedding and the room was booked for us. We will never stay there again.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 28 2008 Very nice room! Great location--great value!! I was in Chattanooga on business for two days--and originally reserved a room at another more upscale and expensive hotel on Chestnut--which was actually only a couple blocks from this hotel.
Reviewed by: oakeep from on Oct 30 2007 Great Location, will stay there again Stayed there during a Cheerleading Competition (which is a challenge in itself). Rooms were clean and nice. Location was perfect. Staff was wonderful. Will stay there again next year. Cafe next door had really good food, especially the desserts. Trolley picked up at the parking lot and was really convenient.
