Back to Francisco Bay Inn Nasty The room smelled, the elevator was dirty inside and outside. The bathroom and the location are the only positive thing about it.
Reviewed by: angela c from on Sep 26 2009 Loved it I loved the place. The price was great. The location was great. The managers were very helpful with making all our bookings. Service was top of the line. And it was very clean. This April will be our second trip. We will be staying of course at FRANCISCO BAY INN.
Reviewed by: Ann from on Feb 08 2008 Don't stay here Paid over 200.00 a night for two double beds. The desk clerk(possible owner) lied and said she needed a cash deposit for booking a tour online. Found out at the tour this was simply a way to rip off her guests. Rooms not very clean, very old carpets and bedding. Too expensive and it is more a 1-2 star motel.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 07 2007 Great Place to Stay! We stayed a week at this hotel. It was very nice and we would definitely stay again. The family that ran the office were very helpful to us in planning daily tours or activities. They were very friendly too. Our room was not large, but it was big enough for the 3 of us. It had a microwave, coffee maker, frig., hairdryer, and iron. The bathroom was huge! The hotel room was clean. It is located in a fairly quiet area with no homeless people hanging around. However, it is close to the muni bus stops on Chestnut and/or Van Ness Streets. Also, Cafe Lombard is less than a block away and it serves delicious Italian food!
Reviewed by: Seawave from on Jun 10 2007 Don't Bother Reserving Early I booked and paid for my room early in a location I wanted because I knew it was the weekend for Bay to Breakers. When we arrived we were told that there was a "problem" with our room and we were going to have to stay at "another property."
Reviewed by: Donna from on May 26 2007 Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Great Value!!!! We were very pleased with our room and even got an upgrade to two queen size beds for the 3 of us. The continental breakfast was very nice (get there early). Parking was easy in, easy out and always a space as promised. Worth it's weight in Gold in San Francisco. Great location 6 blocks from the Warf area, 4 blocks from the water front, on the bus line, plentiful choices for dinning in the resturant area about six blocks away and one block over. Right on the main streets to most attractions in SF. Will definately stay there when we visit SF again. If you are going to drive around SF a detailed road map is a must due to one way streets and no left turn from 4-7pm but just go around the block.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 27 2006 Average Stay The location and facility was very pleasant. Street noise was a bit too much at times and the ceilings are awefully thin. We heard every step that the tenants above us made. We enjoyed the walk from the hotel to the Fisherman's Wharf area. Rates were fair considering the Fleet Week activities and the premium paid to stay that close to the weekend events. The only thing that turned us off was the cold treatment by the front desk staff.
Reviewed by: Adrian from on Oct 11 2006 Reservation moved The San Francisco Bay Inn would have been a nice place to stay, had my hotel host had not have moved me to another hotel clear across town without even a phone call to let me know. i would not recommend this hotel to a single person.
Reviewed by: Donald from on Aug 16 2006 Terrible Experience First let me say that I have never done a review on anything, but after this stay I thoght it was necessary. First the headboard and footboard had all but two rails broken out and it leaned to one side. One corner of the room smelled strongly of urine. To top it off they messed up my booking and left me to try and find another hotel for the second night on Memorial Day weekend! All things considered, you're crazy if you stay here!
