Back to Milford Plaza (The) Worst Hotel Ever! This was my 5th time to New York but my 1st time staying at the Milford Plaza and I have to say it was the worse place I have ever stayed at. Management there were the most unhelpful I have ever come across they do not want to help you in any way at all.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 04 2009 Great location shame about the cockroaches It can not be denied that the location is great and if you catch them at the right time of day the staff are friendly. However....I'm gald to hear that it's due for a revamp, (long overdue in my opinion). Our room was so small (2410) that one of us had to lie on the bed if the other one wanted to move around the room. The shower didn't work, the bathroom ceiling was falling down, the plug sockets were hanging out of the wall. We had a couple of pet cockroaches and no house keeping for two days. My advice is go after the revamp.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 12 2009 LOVE IT!! Being this was my first time in NYC, we stayed there and it was very nice. Last year they began remodeling so I don't know if they finished or not but at any rate it is money well spent, the location especially is just perfect.
Reviewed by: Brian from on Aug 29 2009 always stay here I have used this hotel on many occasions and although the hotel could do with a make over I have not experienced any problems, all staff were helpful
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 27 2009 Hotel could use a make over! Location was great. The staff was great except one desk clerk that told us the malfunctioning room key was our stupidity. Had it reprogrammed later and worked fine. The bathrooms definitely need attention!!! There is mold in the grout lines of the tile and smells like it. Also, someone else's stray hair in the bath. I like the security and the elevators. Can't say I'd stay there again. Haven't had problems like this at other comp priced hotels in the city.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 09 2009 Bed Bugs! Avoid Milford Plaza Hotel! What was supposed to be a romatic weekend turned into a disaster when after the 1st night we found a huge infestation of bed bugs - Room 1550 - Room should have been closed to the public. Staff was not helpful when complaint was made. Left immediately after discovery and cut weekend short. I would never stay at this hotel again and would strongly advise that no one else stay here.
Reviewed by: Mary from on Jun 17 2009 would go back anytime Yes the hotel was outdated but the service was great and if you needed anything they were right on top of things. I and my daughter transfered from a different hotel that had treated us like we had the plague and when we arrived at the milford we were greeted with a smile and our room was always clean.
Reviewed by: Susan from on Jun 11 2009 I really loved this hotel.... 03/24/2009- 03/31/2008 We paid $139.00 per night pluse fees and taxes... small room, but we were not in the room except to sleep. The place was secure with the way we had to show our room key before we entered the elevators. This review blog scared me and I packed bug spray, lysol to clean the bath, air freshner, mind you this room was old..... but it was clean. There were no bed bugs at all. Our room was 1705. Now on to the great things... It is ONE BLOCK from time square. Right in the middle of EVERYTHING!!!! Broadway plays. This is a great place to stay for the price! Ask for Bryan at the elevator desk!!! He was great too!
Reviewed by: Marla from on Apr 06 2009 The worst hotel This hotel looks nice enough when you arrive, but you are soon in for a huge disappointment. The doormen are very nice. The security people who guard the elevators are the biggest power tripping idiots in the world. Upon arrival, the group of people I was with walked to the elevators in a very noisy and crowded lobby, in which we did not hear the security guy speaking, so in his utmost non professional way stated that he guessed we didn't need to get to our rooms today and we deserved it if we didn't listen to him. He then proceeded to talk to us as if we were 5 year olds about how to work the elevators. We were finally able to go to our rooms after each and everyone of us showed him our room key.
