Back to Disneyland Hotel disappointed!! We arrived at the hotel at 3:30pm. Room was not ready. So much for the 3:00pm check in. The carpet was very dirty. We had use our slippers in the room. The bathroom is very small, dirty and outdated. The front door is placed in the center of the room not to the left or right. Poor use of room space. The room really shows its age. I guess it's due to the old building. Disney needs to demo the three buildings and rebuild a brand new resort. On the positive side, room service was very prompt, complementary coffee in the lobby, the Neverland pool is nice and the grounds of the hotel was quite nice. Location is good. Take the monorail to enter the park. Very convenient.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 13 2009 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY We have stayed at several of the hotels including the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand. The service level at all these hotels have declined SHARPLY. Utilizing Guest Services, Guest Communications and hotel management is a waste of time. I can guarantee the service you will get is all lip "I am sorry this occurred", etc. The hotel management does not care and we were taken back as they did nothing to try to correct situations (ie items left in our room were taken when - their hotel housecleaning staff left ALL our doors open for over 8 hours and then they claimed the items were not in the care and custody, overcharging for items in room service needed for a sick child, etc). It is sad that the hotel management is steering the ship and cast members in the direction they do.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 10 2009 just okay... I was REALLY excited about staying at the disneyland hotel, I had previously stayed at the paradise pier and was really impressed and I figured since the Disneyland hotel was $100 more each night that it would be that much better. It wasn't. The room wan't nearly as nice. I am 5'2 and I practically had to duck in the shower, the shower head was really low. Maid serivce was AWEFUL, i think they replace the towels and made our beds and that was it. Not that I expect them to pick up after us but, atleast straighten up a little! We really looked forward to swimming in the pool but never made it- we were beat by the end of the day. It was nice to be so close to downtown disney. But for $100 less each night I would rather walk an extra 50 yards and stay at the Paradise Pier next time. I love everything Disney so I feel bad writing a negative review but I was so dissapointed with our stay and we will probably never go back.

Reviewed by: hammer from on Apr 24 2009 LOVED Mickey Character Quarters! We booked a double queen room with the connecting Mickey room for the kids and LOVED it!! The Mickey room was fabulous! The standard room alone would have fit all of us, with one kid on the daybed/couch, but it would have been tight. We had plenty of room with 3 adults in the standard room and two kids in their own Mickey room. It was great to have two bathrooms as well. The grounds were fun - we felt like we were "in Disneyland" the whole time we were at the hotel. The only downside was that we couldn't afford to stay there for our entire visit, so we moved to a nearby less expensive hotel for half of our trip. Would LOVE to go back! I would definitely recommend the Character Quarters for the kids.
Reviewed by: Janell from on Apr 06 2009 wont go back We only stayed one night but got right into our room at 10 am and it was gross didnt like it at all I will only stay at the Grand from now on. The grounds were cool at the disney hotel and the lost bar was great, we for sure had to stop there on the way to the room and have a couple of drinks before we could face our room to sleep. It is close to the monorail so that was great and so close to espn zone which has the best burgers and drinks. I dont mind the valet 17$ charge well worth it for them to park your car and take your luggage. But we just loved the Grand Californian so much better.
Reviewed by: MikeS from on Feb 25 2009 Nice Disney Hotel Stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for 8 nights. Clean basic room. Big vanity area was nice. Kids loved the pool. Hard to get a chair or lounge in the middle of the day. Food was good at Crocs Bits and Bites. Pleasant stay, no issues. If you plan on walking to the parks through Downtown Disney its about a 5-10 minute walk. If you are going to Disneyland use the monorail station in Downtown Disney.
Reviewed by: shelley from on Oct 22 2008 never going back the valet guy ripped us off from the get go. it was a 17.00 valet charge, my son in law gave the guy a 20 dollar bill, never got his 3.00 change so assumed the valet guy thought it was a tip. the next morning upon check out..we notice that the 17.00 valet charge was applied to our bill, we told the guy at check out that we had already paid it the previous morning to the valet guy, and the guy at check out told us it was pretty much our word against the valet guys word. he said alot of times the valet guy will take a 20.00 bill as a very "generous" tip ! We didn't get one of our rooms till 4:00 pm..after calling maybe 5 or 6 times to find out the status of our room. we were told it was a "guaranteed 3:00 check in" but still didnt get in till 4:00. In one of our rooms the TV had lousey reception, a very snowy picture and the frige did'nt keep things cold. From now on I would rather stay at one of the neighboring hotels across the street..and I will definately dissuade family and friends from staying at any of the Disneyland hotels.
Reviewed by: marthav from on Sep 11 2008 Excellent Service We stayed in one of the new Mickey Mouse Themed rooms. The kids got Mickey and we had a regular room. The rooms overlooked downtown disney. Downtown Disney is very loud at night (until about 10:30) but that is the ONLY bad thing about staying there. The service is excellent, the rooms were excellent and when we lost our three-day park hopper tickets, the hotel replaced them at no charge! Everyone was great! Expensive, yes, but after three 10 hour days at the parks, excellent service at your fingertips is worth it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 07 2008 Save your money Overpriced! Not that clean. while waiting in line staff members look right at you but do not offer assistance. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is close to the park.
