At first, when booking this hotel I was a little hesitant. It seemed a long way from the tourist areas. But once we got there, it turned out to be a wonderful location. There is a trolley tour that picks up right outside the hotel. We could hop on and off at all the stops. If you don't like the trolley, or it isn't running ( it ends around 6 PM), a cab is very affordable; about $ 6 to downtown and takes less than 5 minutes. The pool area at the hotel was also fantastic. We stayed earlier this week while on a family vacation heading to the Dry Tortugas. There was no beach access, but that was okay. Most places that have a private beach are $$$ anyway. Upon checking we found out our rooms were not ready, but that was our fault (we were VERY early). The hotel said they would call as soon as something was available... they called my cell before I even made it back out to the parking lot! One last thing that made our visit so wonderful... the customer service. We were in such a hurry on the morning we checked out..trying to make it to the Yankee II by 7AM... we left my 4 yr. old's teddy bear behind. We didn't realize it for a day or so, then he was heart broken. Long story short, it arrived today.. .carefully wrapped, and obviously shipped with a lot of care. We won't stay anywhere else.

key west, meant for two
the service was excellent, the room had two lg beds quite comfortable for sleeping on, the room included a coffee machine, and was roomy and comfortable for our stay. the location was conveniently close to restaurants and not that far from the beaches and old town key west. the hotel included a gift shop and post office, which came in real handy, and the pool had a tiki bar which was also really really welcomed, and a plus to out vacation. the hotel employees were eager to answer all questions we had on how to get where, and the best places to go and to visit. all in all i intend to stay there again this year, because there are so many things to do in key west, that we (my fiance and I) plan to go back and maybe be married...it was a wonderful time the first time we went as friends, and we enjoyed each others company and each others desires to see the different things there. we have been to key west three times now, and found that we stayed at a wonderful place, and intend to go again soon, and discover more of the fantastic area.

It was good for a night
The service was very nice and friendly, but the room was small, very close to the road, but honestly, there are some rooms farther away. Fro one night, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't book multiple nights as it was over $200 and there were no amenitiesa nd it was abut a 10 minute cab ride from the downtown area. NOt a horrible experience, but for $200, probably wouldn't stay there again.
