Service Recovery Needed
The hotel was in a good location and central to shopping and most sights. However, after arriving late at night, we were very disappointed that there was no room service and no hotel bistro or cafe to get a bite to eat. On one day of our stay, the elevator was out of order for nearly 12 hours! People were standing around the lobby, waiting for them to be fixed, as there was a total of 4 seating spaces in the tiny lobby area. No effort was made to provide added seating, water, light snacks, etc. They even neglected to put an "out of order" sign on the elevator! One poor couple had cardiac and ortho problems and were stuck without their belongings, etc. There was never any attempt at an apology for this inconvenience.

Beware: Bedbugs
I checked into the Latham at 11:00 pm on a Friday night and went directly to sleep. I awoke at 1:30 am to itchiness and discomfort. I turned on the light to find the bed CRAWLING WITH BED BUGS. At least two dozen stood out on the white sheets. When I went to crush the bugs, they were engorged with my blood. The desk clerk told me that I needed to complain to the manager, who would not be in until after I had checked out. I left several messages, but none were returned.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE
DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE. I arrived at the Latham Hotel on April 3rd. The Lobby was a small room with elevator doors and damp smell (Do not believe their Website pictures). Our room was not ready by check in time. The front desk clerk was on a personal call when we arrived and was rude and uncaring. The room was very outdated and smelled old, the carpet, curtains and bed covers were so old and extremely dirty, the linens and towels were yellow and ripped. But the worse was when a month later they double charged my AMEX card and my bank card, when I called the Latham hotel to correct this, I was directed to Serita Steptau, who was extremely rude, impolite, uncaring, and plain simple a disgusting person. She said that she had reviewed my case! (what does that mean my case? It was their mistake) and that she was not going to return my money and that I would have to get this fix with my AMEX and my bank directly and hanged up on me. I then called back and asked to speak with the General Manager, he did not return any of my calls and when my spouse and I emailed him, his response was unprofessional and uncaring. Thank goodness the AMEX customer service is top notched and put this funds back on my card. DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE it was the must horrible experience. There are many hotels around the area that are better qualified to treat customers with kindness and high level of customer care.

Not much to recommend here
I can't really believe some of the reviews for the Latham..wonder if mgmt. is cooking the books. The only positive for the Latham is its location at the heart of Rittenhouse Square.

Obama volunteering
I thought that the Latham was a great place to stay. There were several hotels I could've chosen, but I'm very glad that I chose the Latham. Never had a problem in the seven nights I was there. I used to travel a lot for business and the Latham was right up there with the big name hotels I've stayed at. The room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed! The hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Will definitely stay there again!

Love it!
I like that you can walk to the shopping area and enjoy good food in the nice restaurants nearby and feel safe. The service there is great. I enjoy a good nights sleep the bed was just like sleeping at home; you could not hear all the noise on the busy streets below which is a plus after a busy day.
