Great place to stay!
Stayed here in early August 2009. The room was excellent. Very roomy and clean. The staff was great and attentive. Their breakfast was just right. Just a block from the French Quarter, easy to get to. Harrah's Casino is a short walking distance. Good value. Enjoyed it and plan to return.

Best Deal near the French Quarter
I have stayed here several times in the last year with no complaints. The rooms are large, and clean, albeit a little worn, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is good and above all the location and the price are fantastic. 1 block off canal street for an average of $120 a night is excellent. I always stay at the Hampton.

Nice room - bad odor
The hotel itself, and its staff, were quite good - everyone was friendly and helpful when they could be.The room I had selected was really nice - it was bigger than I expected. The only problem I had with the room was that the floor in our room was wet when we arrived. The next day, we realized that the floor had changed from wet to mildewed! I would go back, but I would definitely ask for a new room the next time!

Great hospitality!
We stayed at this hotel (April 17-20th, 2008)because it was where our convention was held--and glad we did! The rooms were clean, the front desk staff was courteous and friendly, and they are very careful about security at night. Within walking distance to the French Quarter, and you can catch the trolley to the Garden District, etc., right on the corner next to the hotel. Nice complimentary breakfast, too, kept us full until an early dinner around 3 or 4.

First and Last Time
The location was nice because you could take a trolley out of the front door. The staff was friendly. The trip was entirely ruined for me by having a smoking room and I asked for a no smoking room. I stayed away form the room as long as possible but as I approached the door the smell of smoke overwhelmed me. I stayed in a bad mood and I felt sleepy and tired from the smoke. I will never stay there again. I would sleep in my car first.

Hampton Inn a Keeper
Despite an unusually cold December the Hampton Inn on Carondolet offered exceptional quality, service and convenience. Located 1 and a half blocks from the famous Bourbon Street the hotel was a welcome sight after each day of sightseeing in the Crescent City. The room were very clean, spacious and comfortable. Elevators were never a big wait and well maintained. The morning Breakfast Buffett was awesome and featured coffee's, juice's, cereal, sausage patty's, French Toast, bagels and English muffins all in a well lit well kept room on the third floor. Staff at the desk were very helpful throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome. The Hotel is also on the Street Car line and at $5 to ride all day we regretted not taking advantage of this great transportation mode earlier in the week. The riverwalk, aquarium and Cafe DuMonde were also nearby (a 10 minute walk to the first two and 15-20 minutes to tasty Beignets and Cae Au Lait. We found the rates very good for a hotel of this caliber. Vacationing or doing business in the Big Easy, make the Hampton Inn your base of operations.

French Quarter
Very nice hotel in a re-modeled older building. Just two blocks from Bourbon Street. Short walk to the French Quarter. Long walk to the Superdome. Many, many restaurants available within a short walk. Staff and service excellent. Very high value for your dollar! Far enough away to get away from the craziness of the Quarter but close enough to go back in a hurry when it's time for more fun and adventure!
