Wonderful experience!!
We stayed four night at the Dauphine and would have loved to stay longer. The hotel was in a wonderful location, no need for a car at all. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean. The beds comfortable with lot of pillows! The staff was great and very helpful with recommendations for resturants, sight seeing etc. Would definately stay there again and would recommend it without hesitation.

Great Experience
The combination of the location, the staff and the amenities offered was simply wonderful. My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon, and I don't think we could have picked a better spot.

Loved It!!!!!!
We went as a college graduation gift and the hotel was great. The bed was comfortable and the linens were fantastic. The elevator was a little creepy but we weren't in it that often. We walked everywhere from the hotel. It was only a couple of blocks from Canal and Bourbon Sts. Same goes for the French Market/Quarter, Jackson Square, and City Park. When we go back we are totally going to stay there again. On Travelocity it was one of the cheaper hotels (under $100 a night) and it was the best one we ever stayed at in our multiple trips to New Orleans.

Watch out for parking
Hotel is in a good location in the French Quarter. Don't waste the extra money on a balconey unless you enjoy climbing out a window to access it. Also, watch out for parking. The rate for hourly parking in the garage is $28 for 24 hours. However, if you are a hotel guest, for your $28 you must exit the garage at 1pm regardless of when you arrived or pay for another day. A real problem if you want to spend the afternoon in the Quarter before departing. Best thing is to find another hotel, but if you stay here, do not tell them you are a guest, but ask for hourly parking.

Great Experience!
We stayed 2 nights in a ground floor room in the Herman House area. The room opened to a small courtyard, & there was absolutely no street noise. Our room was spacious & comfortable, & the whirlpool tub was a nice extra. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The hotel's location is convenient to all of the French Quarter & also a short walk to several good restaurants. I would NOT hesitate to return to the Dauphine Orleans.

Would stay here again and try a different room
We stayed Saturday and Sunday night in an upstairs courtyard room. This was a very quiet comfortable room. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location of this hotel was excellent. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was a continental breakfast with fresh fruit. The hotel bar is really fun. The only negative is that the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been.

Great Place
I've stayed at the Dauphine a few times and every time I've had an enjoyable experience. I've noticed that some of the reviews comment on the noise but when you're staying in the heart of the French Quarter, you've got to expect some of that. The staff are so friendly and the hotel is absolutely wonderful. The courtyard/pool area is especially great. I know it's a little extra, but splurge for a room with a balcony. You will absolutely NOT regret it! There's nothing like sitting on a balcony in the French Quarter in the early morning.

A WONDERFUL TOUCH OF NEW ORLEANS
MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE NEW ORLEANS. WE USUALLY STAY AT ONE OF THE MARRIOTTS BUT THIS TIME DECIDED TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. WOW!! THIS IS WHAT NEW ORLEANS IS ALL ABOUT. WE HAD THREE ROOMS AND EVERYONE WAS VERY PLEASED. THEY WERE VERY CLEAN AND LARGE. THE STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONAL. EACH PERSON HAD BEEN EMPLOYED FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND SEEMED TO ENJOY BEING THERE. EVERYONE WENT BEYOND EXPECTED TO MAKE OUR STAY PLEASANT. WE WERE EVEN GIVEN A TOUR AND SHOWN A COUPLE OF SUITES WHICH WE WILL BE GOING BACK FOR A VERY ROMANTIC WEEKEND. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR FAMILY GETAWAY SUCH A PLEASING MEMORY.

We loved this old hotel
This was our second trip to New Orleans, and this time around we wanted to stay in the French Quarter at an older hotel. The room was small, but clean. It needed some updating but we were told by staff that renovations would begin shortly. The staff was polite and helpful. The continental breakfast is to die for. They served fresh fruit, waffles, cereal, donuts, and juice. We never ventured out of the hotel for breakfast. The only down side was that our room was near the garage and when cars were parked, you could hear them being parked on the second level via the elevator. If you are looking for a quaint, quiet place to stay, this is it. The hotel lobby is small, but they offered a public computer to print boarding passes and check email for those of us who traveled without our computers.
