We stayed at the hotel monaco for our 1 year anniversary/honeymoon and the experience was outstanding. We stayed in the loft suite which was the most remarkable room that I have ever stayed in. The room was very spacious with a 2 huge bathrooms and all the accomidations of a world class hotel. travel from the hotel to washignton dc is very easy go down two blocks and turn right and you are in washingotn in 10 minutes. Downtown alexandria is a great place to shop and eat all within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel staff is unbelievable and ready to serve you in every need. My room and the hotel our spotless and create a great ambiance with the superb decorating and style. We paid 220.00 a night for the loft sweet which normally goes for much more and honestly the room is everybit worth 500.00 or more a night and in peak times more. I cannot recommend this hotel an more highly and would encourage anyone who is planning a trip to washington to stay at the hotel monaco. Thanks for a great trip

The hotel was lovely, but after reading all the reviews, we booked a room with a balcony. Upon arriving we were taken to our room and no balcony. We had booked directly through the hotel. It spelled out the room to a "T", so we went to the front desk. After saying they were over booked, they found the room we had a reservation for. This is the second time on our three week trip that this has happened and it gets old.

The room was absolutely beautiful, clean, elegant, excellent bedding. The hotel made you feel like a queen/king. The staff was great. They went out of their way to help you. Earl at the front desk was excellent. He was very professional with all the guests. Ed the guy on the front door was very friendly. He really made my day. The entire staff ran very smoothly for just being open for two weeks. Great job.

The room was absolutely beautiful, clean, elegant, great bedding, very New York. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The rate was unbelievably low for a hotel of this quality. This will definitely be my destination in Alexandria.

Just returned from a four night stay. The room was large, very clean and extremely quiet - the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at. We had people next door, never heard them - nor was there any noise from above. We had an inner room over looking the interior courtyard, with a small balconey. Free internet access.
