Back to InterContinental Houston Very Nice Place - Everything is close by My husband took me there for our anniversity and it was really nice hotel. The staff was friendly and so were the other guess staying there. The only bad review was the parking first of all we had to pay $16 just to park than only one elevator was working so we stood in the heat waiting to use one elevator. Now the hotel did take out $60 dollars extra out of my account and stated they would put it back in our account but its been about 3 weeks and nothing yet.

But the worst part about this hotel is the ventilation system. The rooms smell dank and stale. Not too conducive to a good night's sleep. Houston has many alternatives.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 02 2009 Poor service, strange odors, to far from the fun. I have visited many hotels on business, and found the Intercontinental in Houston to be the least enjoyable. To start with, finding help in the hotel reminds me of episodes in some of the big hardware chain stores, where all the employees seem to be busy. Second, several halways had a strange chemical smell. I may have been overly sensitive to this becasue on my second day, I broke out in a rash. I don't know if it had anything to do with my stay there, but for several days after my trip I had very itchy skin and some blemishes. Finally, for those interested in Houston's museums or other cultural attractions, this hotel is too far away-an expensive cab ride. It's close to the Galleria, but you've seen one old shopping mall you're seem them all. Many other good hotels in Houston to choses from. Give this place a pass.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 15 2009 Great Staff! I loved the service, the friendliness and cooperativeness of the staff, the elegance of the hotel, the professional attire and behavior of the staff, the efforts everyone made to accommodate any request of mine, the beautifully appointed and well-prepared meals. I highly recommend this hotel and have told family members that should they ever have occasion to visit Houston, they should stay at the Intercontinental Hotel.

Reviewed by: NXTCBLUE from on Apr 19 2008 Not usually a complainer For the last 3 years I've attended a convention here and for the last three years, our company has had nothing but billing and service problems. On several occasions our employees have been charged for their room eventhough the stay had been covered on our business cards. I had this problem again last week, but this time not only did they precharge all the incidentials to the room, they also charged me the total cost of the room. When I went to the front desk to remedy the situation, service was slow and no apology was given. After another talk with the manager, the charge was taken off.....SUPPOSEDLY. No, instead of crediting me that hefty charge back, they decided to charge me AGAIN! Service so far has been slow and the situation is still unresolved.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 25 2007 Just to let you know!! This was a great hotel. As soon as we drove up I was not sure. They have a pay parking lot that is $3.00 dollars an hour, but if you are staying in the hotel you get a parking pass, that is all you need!
Reviewed by: Wannnahotchaser from on Mar 16 2006 Excellent hotel but a little noise The hotel is located quite close to the Gallery (within 8 mins of walk or the hotel offers a free-shuttle)
