We got staff infections!
We all got Pseudomona a water born staff infection caused by poorly maintained hot tubs. It causes large painful sores all over the body. The hotel staff was very nice until the illness erupted and then they were horrible. The money we spent in medical bills made the trip very expensive. They charge you to use the fitness center which we discovered after paying was under construction. During the construction the fitness center consisted of a hotel room with a few pieces of work out equipment in it. There is one overpriced restaurant, one very overpriced bar/loung and the most expensive Starbucks I have seen outside of Japan. The fancy decor did not make up for the wicked experience we had here.

AWESOME PLACE TO STAY!
I booked thru Priceline, name your own price and got an incredible deal! My husband thought that since we got it for hundreds less than the published price that we would get the worst room. (As if this beautiful place HAD a bad room) We carried our own luggage into the fabulous lobby. The manager checked us in and I complimented him on the beauty of the property. He told me he gave us an upgrade and I thanked him. When we opened the door I jumped up and down like a kid because it was stunning. The entire wall was a window overlooking the water. The next morning we could see our cruise ship! The bed was incredible with plush linens. The bathroom even had a flat screen tv. We walked the very short walk along the water to the local mall. The shops were great! We ate at Bubba Gumps. It was a very colorful and fun mall.

Welcome to the 70's
After carefully examining available hotel offerings over Christmas near the cruise terminal and American Airlines arena, I settled on the Intercontinental at $400 for one night. I read many positive reviews and thought I couldn't go wrong. What a mistake. If you are looking for a trip back to the 70's, by all means book it. For starters, the front desk couldn't give a damn of our arrival and hands were outstretched everywhere for tips. After arriving in our room, our shower head was leaking all over the dated and moldy washroom. Calling the front desk did get us a new room but the porter failed to move our bags after receiving a hefty tip. After a 90 minute wait, I wound up doing it myself. Washrooms were no better in room #2, with mold on the walls and a plugged drain to boot. Picking up a Fed Ex delivery from the concierge was met with a sneer (for the lack of tip, I suppose). On the positive, the hotel is well located (for my purposes) but I was very disappointed given the hotel has been so highly rated. Sleep at you own risk.

The perfect vacation hotel
My boyfriend and I visited Miami for the very first time and had the privilege and pleasure to stay in your hotel located at 100 Chopin Plaza. Our stay was unforgettable and the cleanliness, luxury and style of your hotel was exuberating thank-you and if ever we are in Miami again we will definitely look you up and recommend you. The location was also a plus we were able to walk to the local Bayside Market and sight-see, shop and eat. We highly recommend Intercontinental if you are looking for a hotel that has it all especially the view (Breath-taking).

this is a realy nice hotel and the rates aren't tooo bad. As usual there is valet parking and they do charge a fee, but by far they are the fastest valet I have ever experniced, think my car was there within a minute of me giving him the ticket... so nice to get good service for once :)

won't be back
First of parking was $35 a day. The view was beautiful but it's overlooking the bay if you want to go to the beach. It's a 20-25 minute drive. The services at the bar and restaurants is very good but extremely costly.(example)The breakfast bar for 2 will run you around $50 bucks. They nickle and dime you for everything. Wireless internet 11 bucks a day. There's a frig in the room but you are not allowed to use it for your personal items. If you remove their items even for a few seconds a built in computer in the frig will charge you (example) move the mixed nuts and it will cost you $10. Bayside mall which is near by is nice but Miami isn't the friendliness city. If I ever decide to visit Miami again I will stay in South Beach not downtown Miami.
