Great location - little noisy
This hotel is near the best traveller area in SD. Gas Lamp quarter is where the best shopping and restaurants are. It is a 5 minute cab ride from the airport (about $12). It is within walking distance (10 city blocks) of the trolley, convention center and baseball stadium. The trolley will take you to the football stadium on game day.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!
This beautiful hotel was wonderful! The suite was large and clean with a great view! (We had the corner 809). And the price was very good! The staff was very helpful with everything from helping with our bags to great places to eat. The location was perfect! Very fun places to explore and very close to several attractions! We went to the Zoo and to the Wild Animal Park and also did a few tours! The mall is just up the street and huge! Lots of great shopping and places to eat. Our room had a mini kitchen complete with dishes so we walked to the other side of the mall to Ralphs for snacks and drinks. We can't wait to go again!

Haunted will NOT be back
AWFUL EXPERENCE I went with my mom Only Monica and Merry had great customer service and the Valet guys, the rest acted that they were always doing us a great favor. We had paid for 7 nights and checked out earlier because we were too scared with our experiences, on the first 3 nights spooky things happend with TV turning ON/OFF and light ON/OFF without us touching a swith, we could not sleep at all by the 3rd day, Our chest felt thight and very hard to breath. By the 3rd night we were in bed and the light next to the bed come ON and the TV OFF that was the turning point we were out of there, down in the lobby expalining what happened, I know it sounds wierd and I never believed in Haunted places but I was able to feel it and was terrified. They moved us from that room and we imediatly felt lighter but by then it was too late any noise we heard we would wake up. After the check out I called and spoke with the manager explainig what happend that either its HAUNTED or it has Serious ELETRICAL problems and all the inconvinience, she responded that I must be wrong because other people stayed there and had no complains and that they wouldnt do anything for us. And acted as if I was crazy, but we know what we felt and saw. We even have on pictures! I'm a airline crew for a major airline and I stay in many differnt chains of hotels around the world and have never been treated this poorly before, as if I was a CON. DO NOT STAY THERE SPECIALLY ON THE 5th Floor its SPOOKY!

VERY DISPLEASED
This place is OVER RATED! When I walked in, I thought I traveled back to the 1940's. The lobby is very dimly lit. The only friendly person at the fron desk is Merry. The first thing that hit me off the elevator was a musty dank odor. Now I know why there were freshner sprays in the elevator, they needed them all the place. My room was no better, it smelled as well. The furniture is so old and looked like it came from a bad thrift store. If you want to watch TV, you must sit on the run down furniture, had to use blankets to cushion. Don't go to sleep early, the restaurant downstairs plays loud music until 1am.For a $276 dollar room, it was the WORST! Best thing is the location.

I was completely appaulled!
I'll apologize in advance for the gross content. My aunt and I were visiting San Diego for the weekend and chose this hotel because of the great location, but that's all this place has to offer. The front desk clerk, Sean, was sarcastic and impatient when we were checking in. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

Great place to stay downtown
Great location; right in the middle of the Gaslamp area of downtown San Diego! Nice hotel. The rooms were renovated a while back and they are wonderful.

LOVED IT!
I stayed at this hotel last weekend for my birthday and highly recommend! The staff was full of energy-- if Merry is the person checking you in, you are in for a real treat.... She is HI-larious! The hotel was very clean and has a charming, old time feel. Above all else, you can not BEAT the location!! Right in the heart of the Gaslamp- and walking distance to all the action!
