nice place
i went here as a school band trip. the rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. there are much nicer hotels in Oahu, but this one was still really nice. we didnt have any problems in the rooms except for one time when the sink got backed up. it was gross. but, it happens. the staff came and fixed it right away.

Loved it, loved it, Perfect
Ohana East is in an excellent location and close to everything; beach, food, shopping, bar, clubs, etc. The hotel is clean and the service is excellent. In fact everyone in Hawaii is very friendly and makes you feel welcomed. We were only there for 4 nights but I loved every minute. Waikiki beach is only a short walk away. We highly recommend staying at Ohana East or Ohana West.

So So....
It is hard to get to from the airport, we spent at least an hour trying to get to it. There are lots of one way streets that make it difficult. It is quite a walk to the beach from here. It doesn't look far....however, there are no direct routes. Walking time was at least 15 minutes. The first morning we watched the hookers walking the streets below. The pool area was great, lots of great restaurants near by. Loved that there was tons of shops right across the road. For the money I would stay there again. Saved lots! Don't take the submarine trip if you are at all queezie! And a definite is snorkeling in Humana Bay. Think it was $5 per person. AWESOME trip all around.

Save money and splurge on meals and activities
This place is really convenient if you want someplace central. The bathroom maybe a bit small, but they're still bigger than some hotels I've stayed in NYC! And why would anyone spend too much time in bathrooms when you've spent all that money and airfare to Hawaii, I ask?! What I like about Ohana East: spacious rooms w/sofa, friendly & helpful desk clerk full of aloha, Keoni's restaurant (downstairs) with excellent breakfasts and Thai-American cuisine, Waikiki beach is just one block across the street, and close to the Bus (for sightseeing downtown) located on Kuhio Ave behind the hotel. Save money on expensive hotel rooms and use the money to splurge on activities you can tell everyone on the mainland when you get back!

Middle of the road
No-frills, clean, two blocks from the beach and the main strip in Waikiki. Decor is dated and our room was fairly small but for around $120, it was a very fair deal.

Will never go back
The employees were very very rude, service was bad, room was noisey, walls are paper thin, will never use this hotel again, worst place i have stayed in in all my trips to Hawaii.

Worth of your money
We stayed for about a week in this hotel. It's in the corner of the main streets. Less than 2 blocks away from the beach. There is a great internet cafe at the lobby that can make you a good breakfast for less than $10.00.The hotel also offers you a fast internet connection if you carry a laptop. No wireless that you can find. At the ground floor of the building is Round table Pizza. Across the hotel are KFC,SUBWAY,BURGER KING and couple of ABC stores(which is actually on every corner in Waikiki). At the back is the International Market... so simply, accessible to the most important place you want to go in your vacation. The standard room is not that big... but hey, are you guys going to stay at the room all the time ? I guess not... So the place is not bad. It's clean and the housekeeper is very attentive to your needs. The one thing I noticed at the last night when we stayed was you can hear a "loud person" at the next door. Not a sound proof room.. I can hear someone coughing badly on the next room..
