Poor Hotel with Good Location
We had to wait until nearly 5PM to get our room. The room was grubby and there was mold on the shower head. The hotel is un-airconditioned and fans were unavailable. The noise from the nearby train station kept me up most of the night and the curtains couldn't keep the light out. I would never stay here again. Out of the 3 Jury's inn, I've only had one good experience in Cork, Ireland. I think I'll stay away from this chain for the rest of my life.

BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING
The check in was swift and the room was ok if a bit grubby. My room was positioned on the ground floor by the loading bay, so it was quite noisy in the morning. Otherwise it was fine. I had a bag stolen from my room containing a laptop, glasses & other bits. The police were called, but beware, please read "The Hotel Proprietors Act" apparently located at the reception. I wish I had. The rooms also do not have a safe (at least the one I was in didn't). There is a "safe" room in the foyer, if you have the time to go back and forth. The staff and management have since been very unhelpful. Altogether a dissapointing first experience of a fantastic city. AVOID.

Was fine by us!
We stayed here in May 2005 and did not have any problems. I found the room large enough to be comfortable. The location was GREAT! You walk out of the back door of the hotel and up a flight of stairs and you are standing in the middle of the Royal Mile. It makes for a perfect rest stop between sightseeing. Never heard the train-maybe we were too exhausted!

will not go there again
The 1st room we were in the shower didn't work but couldn't change rooms until the next day. Next day the room that we were given the shower drain didn't work so we had to stand in water. The staff wasn't friendly or helpfull in any way or even understanding to an unforeseen injury to my elderly Mother while in edinburgh.

Solid hotel in the heart of the city
Jury's Inn was quite a good hotel for the price. It didn't have A/C or a fan, but the bathroom was nice enough and the shower was fabulous. There's a small TV, a bit of room to walk around, and nice views of the city skyline. The towels smelled a bit old. We didn't have any trouble with any noise from the train station.

Ms Smith
The Jurys Inn in Edinburgh should not be rated a 3 star hotel. We had trouble with cleanliness throughout our whole stay. They even put out dirty dishes for breakfast in the restaurant. Our towels were soiled at times, as were the linens, and the bathroom always had a dirty smell. The train station was right across the street, and the noise would get quite loud - especially with the windows open. The shower curtain was so thin, that a vacuum would be created when you showered with the curtain wrapping around you as you were trying to bathe.
