Clean, comfortable, speacious room, great location
First, the location is fantastic. One block away from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop - very convenient. The rooms are spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. We had a suite with fridge, microwave, stove, and dishes. Came in very handy for reheating leftovers from dinners during the week. The room was well appointed with bed, sofa, five tables, two chairs, TV and dresser. A feather pillow was available in the closet, along with a nice terry robe. They even offer free overnight shoe shine service. The high speed Internet worked well via cable, but I had problems with the unsecured wireless Internet access point. Not a real problem as a cable was provided.

Never go back
This hotel was such a letdown. The pictures look like it is a beautiful and luxurious place to stay. It is the total opposite. The rooms were in horrible condition. When me and my family got there the lobby was smaller than my living room (which is not that large) there is no concierge. It is extremely unproffesional. Once we arrived at our room we found a large fly, we left hoping that when we came back it would be gone. We got back to the hotel there were now two large flies. We called for help and the hotel attendants showed up with a rolled up magazine and never got the fly out of the room. I did not shower because it was that gross, the appliances were rusty and the bed sheets smelled like they hadn't been washed. When I opened up the shower cap, it smelled of cigarrettes. It is not central, in fact when we were asking how to get back (walking) people didn't even know it existed. It is a shame that the wonderful university is linked to this disaster. We ended up changing hotels after the first night. I give it 0 stars. Don't go here.

Customer Service is not available
This place gets no stars. When you consider the price, the outdated rooms, the lack of customer service and the great hotels in the area, this extended stay is horrible. The affiliation with the GWU name is unfortunate for the university.

absolutely wonderful!!
There was not one single thing I did not like about the GWU Inn. The staff was incredibly pleasant and when I asked for a room with a view, the manager upgraded my room to a suite without charge! The parking spaces are limited, but the valet walked me to a parking space on the street and assured me of the safety of the vehicle. Last but certaintly not least, the suite feature a westin heavenly bed and the bed is appropriately named. It was the best sleep I've had in years and when I returned home, I ended up ordering the heavenly bed set. Kudos to the GWU, you made my memorial day weekend 2007 absolutely incredible!

Comfortable, clean, and...
Even though my guide (purchased in Feb.) said that this Inn was "moderately priced; $125-150", it was $186 a night---and that with the GWU discount because we were visiting my niece and showing my daughter the U. Add $22 for our car, taxes, etc., and our bill was over $500 for two nights. (That included two skimpy pasta portions rattling around in cardboard boxes with no implements or napkins which we picked up in the adjoining restaurant to take to the room; pretty good bolognese, however.)
