Beware of Bed Bugs
I am still disgusted by our stay at the King George Hotel and it has been over two weeks since my stay. We woke up to find bite marks all over my friend’s body. Red, swollen, and exuding pus. We then discovered the crawling bugs in our bed. They were crawling on top of the sheets and pillows IN PLAIN SIGHT! At the time, the "acting" hotel manager did everything in his power to make us feel comfortable. He assured us our trip would be compensated. He then immediately offered us a new room in the hotel free of charge. However, my friend and I felt we could not stay in that hotel a moment longer. We took "shelter" in a neighboring hotel and were told we would be compensated for our inconvenience, and discomfort. I was asked to send the bill so that I could be reimbursed. I did this. However, to date I have not received ANY response. I feel as though we were quietly and quickly rushed out of the hotel in order to avoid any confrontation in front of the new visitors checking in. Now that this is all over, the hotel's comforting words at the time is nothing more than an empty promise. In the least, the Hotel manager should have contacted me to apologize. I half expected a reply refusing to pay the additional hotel charges however, I did not expect this. No response at all. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. This isn’t a hotel which cares about their visitors, which is evidenced by their continued lack of communication.

The Only Place I'll Stay!!
I absolutely loved the King George Hotel! It's clean, cute, and well staffed. The rooms are really small, but the views are fantastic. There's awesome places to eat all around it. The bathroom is so tiny I stubbed my toe on the bathtub while washing my hands in the sink... but I really loved the room. The bed was comfortable and I'm a space foam junkie, so I'm hard to please. The service was fantastic. Has a noon checkout. Perfect location. Reasonable parking. Overall, I completely recommend it and I never plan on staying anywhere else!

30$ a day to park Bad service small room
Came in for President's day weekend got there at midnight to find that they hadn't mentioned the 30$ A DAY parking then the elevator is broken and we had to walk up 8 flights of small stairs because they had no one to help us...the room is so small that when I first walked in I ran into the tv and bruised my whole right side. Elevator broke last day and we had to bring our luggae down ourselves when we asked for help the rude front desk man said we don't have help and I was like you better find someone to help so he sent the maintenence man. When I spoke to the front desk man about a discount he rudely said call hotels.com and complain. It may be a great location but the parking is unreal the attitude was soooo poor and the room was the size of my closet. With the parking prices you can stay right down the street at the HIlton for the same price! WOuld never recomend this hotel not even to a bum!

We will definitely go back!!!!
location is just perfect, everyone in the hotel are friendly and helpful. Just like what they say, it is a family hotel, so they treat their guests like "family"..

our safe haven
My husband and I booked a very bad hotel in SF a few years ago which we had to leave and promptly. There we were stuck in SF with no place to stay and our luggage in tow. I circled the block of the "bad hotel" and found the king george. There prices were reasonably compare to what I was willing to pay at the time just to know I would have a safe clean room. Needless to say we had a great time and our room was fabulous. It was a little small but the quality of the linens was good as well as clean. No breakfast was included but they had the cutest little bar downstairs which served breakfast. I would definetly stay there again.

Perfect in every way !
The location put us close to the heart of the city. We easily walked everywhere until our feet hurt. All staff was so courteous and helpful. The updated decor was charming and tastefull. We loved the newly painted rooms and hallways - fresh new colors that still retained the flavor of an old hotel. The narrow winding stairs to the second floor was a treat and a nice way to meet people. Yes, the bathroom was a little tight, but where can you find a bottle opener still on the door jam?

Great if you are extremely small and skinny lol
Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly, but the room was the size of a peanut shell. I do not ever recall staying in a hotel room this small. It was so tiny they had to put the coffee machine in the closet because there was no where else to put it lol. It is right in the middle of the city though which makes getting around easy.

Shame on The King George Hotel
Trying to book two rooms for three nights was frustrating. The service personnel were clueless and the rates bogus. I finally booked - had to was traveling with others - but with no package rates (that they said they had for internet users)no upgrade from twins to doubles (as they said would more than likely be available since I requested the upgrades for $25 extra each night).
