Back to Key West Westin Resort and Marina Over Priced and not worth the Money We arrived at the hotel around 6:00 in the evening and our room was still not cleaned. Even though they let us check in the room was dirty. There was paint chipping off the walls and the balcony was small with a very little partial view. The air conditioner was on the balcany which made it extremly HOTTER than it needed to be sitting out there with the 90 weather. Breakfast in the morning was very good but VERY over priced even when expecting to pay hotel rates. The room was large but average, I expect more when I am paying over 300.00 a night. I travel alot and this hotle is average not worth the money you pay when your there.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 03 2009 Clean, but not a great view I have stayed at the other resorts on the gulf near Mallory Square and Duvall. Decided to check out the Westin. Booked a deluxe Ocean view..what a view...a deluxe view of an Ocea Cruise ship is more like it..they never tell you that the cruise ships are docked right in front of your window every day and you don't get to see the ocean view you paid for until sunset. The cruise ships made announcements and blew their horns at all times. They get in early, so if you wanted to sleep in...forget it. I complained and gee, they knocked off a whole $30.00 from my 6 night visit..they didn't offer any apology and the desk clerk started laughing when I complained. Then, when another cruise ship came in, you couldn't walk down the waterfront to the Ocean Key House or other bars because the cruise ship lines took up the sidwalk. Also, at night they let young children sit by the cocktail bar...please, who wants to hear little kids screaming and whining when on vacation. Key West is not a kiddie town...I was very disappointed in the Westin and will never go back. The Pier House and the Hyatt are alot nicer.

Reviewed by: Richard C from on Apr 21 2009 Key West Getaway The Westin was recently purchased by a new owner and the level of service has been amped up as well. We spent nine days at the hotel and can't complain about anything at all! The front desk was helpful with the one problem we did encounter, fixed it and even sent champagne and strawberries to our room for the inconvenience. Don't waste your money on an ocean view, get a pool or garden view and go out to Mallory Square and enjoy the sunset with the crowd! We only ate at the hotel once and that was for breakfast...you are within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in south Florida, why would you stay and eat at the hotel? The daily parking fee is a given at any large resort in Key West seeing as to parking is at a premium outside of garages. To us $12.00 a day was a small price to pay to assure our car was safe and in shade! Utilize the concierge for booking activities...they can get you some of the best times/prices available. Great pool area with food/bar service from 11am to 5pm daily...and don't forget to hit the Sunset Deck bar for great drinks during the sunset celebration.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 20 2007 You Call This An Ocean Front Room??? Our "Ocean Front" room did not actually even face the ocean, but the marina instead. And rather than even see the marina, what we did see every day was a large private yacht directly across from our balcony. ok, if we looked way off to the side, the ocean would have been visible, however, every single morning a giant cruise ship arrived and almost parked right in our room, loud announcements and all. Whatever view we might have had of the ocean was completely obliterated by the daily parade of cruise ships. Even dining outside at the restaurant facing the ocean our view was completely blocked by not one, but two cruise ships docked one next to the other. Westin's solution was to knock $50. off our room rate each night which would have been the price of a "garden" view room. At $279. a night this was definately NOT worth it!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 20 2007 Dooped Funny when you book and room and told that your balcony has the best view of the sunset, they forget to tell you that a cruise ship will be blocking it!!! There are literally thousands of people coming off those ships and the pool IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, that's right, pay $279 a night and share the pool with the cruise folks.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 19 2006 I don't think I'll go back Upon arriving I found the room clean, but support staff could not speak English, so it was very hard to communicate your needs. In addition, you receive two complimentary packages of coffee, if you wanted more there was a charge, this was after paying over $260.00 a night for two people. The computer room was only equiped with two computers, which were very slow. I had projects I planned on doing while on vacation and was counted on their computer system to be more up to date. While doing my reports on the computer people were lining up to gain access. They advertised a privite beach, this was non exsistant. You had to pay to park in their garage.
