Not bad, not great
The rooms were nicely sized and had a TV and free wireless internet access. There was a kitchenette which was equipped with pots and pans and basic cutlery.

best ever
I spend 4-6 scattered weeks a year for 15 years at ESJ, have been to all the hotels, and this is the best value by far;everything is on the premises, even a mini market, or a short walk away; be rude and as in Mexico, you get what you give; the people will know you by first name after the second or third stay and bend over backwads for you; I notice people who wrote negative reviews can't spell either, which shows THEIR level, not the hotel's.

Roaches & Snappy Hotel Service
I booked this Vacation with Interval International, as the only thing they had available in Puerto Rico. We were hoping for a nice family vacation before my daughtter went to college. When we 1st checked in we were rudely greeted by snappy Hotel Staff, who did not like that we booked with a Timeshare. When we got up to our room, it looked decent. Later to find a roach crawling on the floor. We asked the Hotel Staff to take care of it, while we went out. Instead when we came back and found another roach. I was not sure where to find Pool Towels, so I went down to the Front Desk, only to have the same rude Man ignore me. Later in the week, when we founf there was a problem with our Toilet. We called the Front Desk and we didn't get a response, for half an hour. I had to go down and make a scence in order to get some attention. If I were you, I would stay in Conado.

Got More than I excepted from this hotel
This is my second year staying at the ESJ Towers, I had been a regular at the El San Juan Hotel and Casino, but that hotel has changed in many aspects and seems now to be targeting the young clientle. Like everything else change happens, so after 21 years I made a decision to move on and find a place that offers a bit more for my money and an atmosphere where I can feel more relaxed and comfortable .The entire staff at the Esj Towers are unbelievable, kind and professional. They offer many perks to keep their guests. I recommend this hotel to those who want to feel at home, A perfect hotel for families. The only suggestion is that a facelift and update would complete this perfect location. I am happy to have found this new vacation spot and I will return.

Think Twice Before Coming Here.
This was one of our worst vacation experiences. The hotel/timeshare is dark and dated. Rooms are clean but the accomodations are like a budget motel room. Access to the beach is through the parking garage. You must walk a distance to get everywhere. The pool was small and the outdoor jacuzzi was not working. The noise from the planes taking off from the nearby airport, dated air conditioning units and the loading docks from the El San Juan Hotel made sleeping impossible. Requests to move to a quieter room were not accomodated. The Isle Verde area does not have much to offer restaurant or shopping wise. It was so bad we checked out after one day and moved to a wonderful hotel in the Condado area where we felt we were on a tropical vacation. The Condado area has great hotels, restaurants, shopping and casinos for the same amount of money.

Relieved to find it okay!
We were apprehensive about this resort when reading the reviews. But it was the only timeshare resort and week available in Puerto Rico from January through the end of May. Much to our pleasure, our week's stay turned out fine. Our unit was clean, the staff was very helpful, and the location was good for us since we did not rent a car. It is convenient to Old San Juan by taxi and our tours picked us up at the resort. Many restaurants, 2 casinos, and a grocery are within convenient walking distance. Plans are being started for the updating of the resort. The restaurant is average but adequate although we only ate breakfast there. You will have a crop of tiny ants at the kitchen sink if you don't keep your glasses and dishes washed. No problem otherwise with critters. The beach and pool are nice but do require a trip through the parking garage. Land is at a premium in San Juan so you will find many things stacked upon each other. Likewise parking is really cramped if you are brave enough to drive. We had a great time in Puerto Rico!

Horrible Experience
Recently stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend and it was not a good experience. We checked in to a filthy room! Someone had used the bathroom and forgot to flush. There were ants everywhere. The maid did not come to clean the room in two days. i requested clean towels and received the following day. hotel staff was unreachable. I would not recommend anyone to stay at the esj towers.

It is what it is.
It would seem the owner has decided one of two things. Either A. the mid-1970's were so cool they needed to stay. or B. In order to save money for both themselves and the customers the hotel has not been renovated since it was built.

Would return again !!!
Staying as a time share guest I found the accomodations perfectly fine. The staff were attentive to our needs. For example,we needed a light bulb changed and one phone call took care of it.I was reading before I left for PR the other reviews about the conditions...I don't know where those people stayed, but I can assure you I did not find one thing out of place, dirty, or in disrepair. The beach was ok...but fortunately we were able to travel this beautiful island for the less commercial beaches. The restaurant had a buffet/continental breakfast that was ok..we only ate there once..otherwise we would prepare a light healthy breakfast in our room so we could save room for the wonderful tradional foods that we could find along the roadside spots....that was the best!!!!Don't be afraid to try the local fare!!!!!There were 2 grocery stores within driving/bus route that were great and just like being at home for all your needs. The security staff were wonderful and we never had a problem, but as always you need to be mindful of your surroundings and never leave your valuables unattended. It was a great experience for all!!!
