Back to Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa Awsome Hotel The pool, the amenities, the room. There is just so much to say. The staff is great they were very kind in extending our check out to late afternoon with no additional charge. From the moment you pull up to the moment you leave you feel like royalty.
Reviewed by: Louis from on Nov 17 2009 Vacation Every year This place is a family favorite. We go their every year. My only complaint is that it cost upward of 700 dollars a night. Now most people would see this as a rip off, but the hotel is a must due with children in Maui. The pools are amazing the water elevator cool and the ocean beautiful. The hotel offers complementry sucaba lesson which was a lot of fun for my teens. Their is a small childrens beach harboring sand without the curents or wildlife which is nice for parents of young children. Another extra suprise of our vaction was the wedding going on. The peacefull hawaiian music was a nice tone to set every night as we watched the sun go down. If you do not have kids in toe or you do not wish to have a youthful vacation I would stay at the four seasons next door. That hotel is alot more afordable and less children running around. My only complaints about the Grand was the towels. Everymorning if you wanted chairs you would have to make your way to the pool at 7 am to grab towels and reserve your seat. This would be fine except you must go back to the seat at least every hour to prove that you were there. This would be fine espcially if you have dilligent children but even if you do go back every hour your towel may still be removed. I have found out through my 4 trips to the Grand that the towel game fails to protect the people who do vist their towels frequently. Beside the pesky towel crew the Grand is a top choice of our family and I am sure it will meet the needs of yours too.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 21 2009 My favorite This has got to be my favorite hotel we have stayed in our many trips to the Islands of Hawaii. The service was exceptional - we were treated like royalty. It has the best Luau that I have been to - don't miss it - it's worth cost. I highly recommend this hotel.
Reviewed by: Rea from on Sep 25 2009 LOVED!!!! We WILL be returning! My husband and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We started off in Oahu and stayed at Outrigger Waikiki on The Beach, which was nice but nothing compared to the Grand Wailea.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 21 2009 If I could live here, I would! I've been to Hawaii three times in the past three years. Each time, I HAVE to stay at the Grand Wailea. Our travel agent told us one of her previous clients had stayed there and wasn't just spoiled...she had been ruined to anywhere else. My husband and I concur.
Reviewed by: MaRanda Malone from on Jul 08 2009 Better then a dream vacation! The Grand Wailea is like no other. Once you go, nothing will compare. We were welcomed with smiling faces and helpful associates for checkin. The art, views and gardens are so beautiful and captivate you as if you were walking through the botanical gardens. We actually got married at The Grand Wailea. I can honestly say, after setting up/designing over 200 weddings, I have never seen a ceremony so beautiful and so sentimental then ours at The Grand Wailea. And I have seen it all with working in industry for over four years. The best part is, we can always revisit the resort and the spot on the beach where we married and have the best memories. the food is exceptional. The drinks, deserts, everything. My husband loved the pastries at Kula Cafe where we got breakfast every morning. I can not even explain into words what a amazing stay we had. I felt like a goddess being spoiled and pampered and the help making you feel that they care and want to help with anything. The pictures we got are priceless. Just look for yourself. Recommendation- if you are going then do a room upgrade. We loved our view and there is something about waking up each morning to see the sunrise over the ocean that is so priceless you wonder why you ever considered not getting the upgrade.
Reviewed by: rosemaryb from on Jun 16 2009 MOST AMAZING PLACE EVER Wow, what an experience. You know, my wife and I read some of these reviews before we left so our expectations were low. I truly believe that the few bad reviews are upset employees or something. First off, the Hotel is probably the most amazing that we have ever been too. We have traveled to Moscow, Thailand, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Canada, China, Israel, and several others. And this place was the cleanest and most beautiful. The people were very helpful and friendly. I can't tell you how many times people came up to us and asked if we needed anything. NOW TO POOL!!! Nothing better. We spent a good amount of our time here and everything was so amazing. Yah, the burger was $14.95 BUT was delicious. When you go to a 5 Star resort, you should pretty much expect to pay a little more for good food. We bought a floaty device for our daughter for only $5 in the gift shop at the pool. We are pretty homesick for the Grand Wailea. And actually if you do some shopping, you can get a pretty good deal on the rates. But there is NO way when I read the negative reviews, that people can justify anything bad about this resort. This IS a 5 star resort, superior service, yes a little pricy but that IS what you pay for, the grounds are clean and soooo beautiful. Hope this helps anybody thinking about going. Enjoy!!!
Reviewed by: Michael from on Apr 03 2009 Nice......and expensive Real nice hotel. Pool is awesome. Highly recommend the swim up bar. The bartender Rich is an amazing person. Rooms are nice, grounds are great...but this all comes with a price. $12 Mai Tai? Not sure if that is worth it.

Force to look up at large cockroach during treatment, repeatedly requested a robe for my modest guest and repeatedly refused, be for warned to wear your own bathing suite or be in an area naked with women with them on, told we were in an exclusive area for women then lead into a co-ed patio . Poor service from spa & pool personnel. Pool employee looked into my private purse and asked for a cigarette. Insulted my appearance. Company attempted fraudulent charges on my credit card in the amount of $3333.33. I broke my cell phone when hotel blocked my account to use the phone over declined credit card which was declined by the credit card merchant over suspected fraud. Waken up with loud call from accounting at 0800 while a “privacy please” was on my door. No toilet paper in the bathroom. Rude management.
