Back to Westin Bayshore Resort & Marina (The) Nice Hotel, but Bad Value The benefit of this hotel is that it is separated from the more crowded and chaotic downtown area yet downtown is still close and easily accessible. Stanley Park is essentially right in your 'backyard'. Yaletown and Gastown (including Vancouver Lookout, Imax, etc) are a bit far to walk to, so expect to drive and pay for parking or take public transit to these areas. Vancouver is extremely bike-friendly so I would recommend renting a bike (plenty of rental places on Denman St near the hotel). You can easily bike all over the city and Stanley Park in a day.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 21 2006 Terrible Service We were there for a long weekend. In the morning, there was no power, No Electricity in the room! I called the front desk, no one was answering the phone. I tried numerous times, and finally got through to their reservation center. They said they were going to check what was going on with the hotel, and they couldn't tell either. Finally, when I had gotten through to the operator, he said, they were doing a routine power surge. He said we should have been notified. We definately were not notified and did not know what was going on. When I asked to speak to the manager, he merely said, "everyone should have been notified, I don't know why you guys weren't". That is just not satisfactory! So basically, we were stuck in the room for a few hours in the dark. When power came back on, we quickly got in the elevator with our luggage to get out of the hotel. And we were stuck in the elevator! Finally, we had to take the elevator up to the 7th floor to be released out. And we carried our luggage down to the Lobby. The hotel did not offer to help.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 18 2006 First Class all the way This hotel is first class. Located right in the marina, the location is fantastic, although it's a 7 or 8 block walk (or bus) to Skytrain if that's your transportation.
Reviewed by: Craddie from on Nov 29 2005 A perfect experience The Bayshore's setting is spectacular, right next to Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver. The view is spectacular, and you are in the very middle of all that makes Vancouver a great place to visit.

Reviewed by: al damji from on Aug 24 2005 Westin Bayshore is wonderful! The front desk and concierge service was great. They were very friendly and answered every question that we had. Location was very convenient, close to lots of sights. The view was great! All of the food we had at the hotel was good, if a bit over-priced. Room service was speedy and friendly. The beds are beyond comfortable!

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 07 2005 Location, Location, Location! Great hotel, right on the water where you can watch the boats and sea planes come in. Rooms were great - the beds and sheets were worth the stay alone. Right on the path to Stanley Park where you can easily forget you are in a large city. Excellent restaurants within a short walk. Recommend taking a sea plane trip to Victoria, visit Grouse Mountain, and drive the Sea to Sky Highway up to Whistler.
