GO ELSEWHERE! NOT WORTH IT! UNTRUSTWORTHY!!
My parents and I stayed here for a week. We paid for a superior room and got a regular room. There were 3 of us in the room yet only enough drinking glasses, coffee for 2 people. The beds were not made properly, the room was dirty, the bathroom was dirty with previous guests hair on the walls! My Mom's watch was stolen the first night there and when we checked out we could not get a report to make an insurance claim. We paid over $2,000 for a week's stay, yet when the bill arrived under our door the last morning of our stay it showed $1,000 LESS. When we asked about it at the desk upon checkout, we were told it was a "system error". Hello!! PEOPLE input that information. When we demanded a copy of the bill back and a report of the stolen property - I was threatened with them calling security because of my "behavior"! We had to call each and every night for clean glasses, ice, more coffee and creamer (Dad even left notes asking for more coffee and creamer EACH MORNING). The restaurant is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for what you don't get! The honor bar is a joke and way overpriced as well. As for "First 30 minutes free" for internet access in the business center - not true either. Dad and I spent a total of 16 minutes online doing our web check-in for our flights and were charged for that as well. One day we had a rental car. There's no place to park... they park it for you. We arrived back to the hotel at 9pm and returned the car the next day to the rental car office at 8am .... we were charged $80 for those few short hours!!! Being a guest of the hotel why isn't parking complimentary??? The staff speaks very bad English - very difficult to understand them. If you don't tip well - you can forget that you even exist. CONCEIRGE : is none existent. When you call the phone rings and rings and rings and rings. Then you get the front desk who put you on hold for 5 minutes. so I hung up and called back numerous times before they (the front desk AGAIN) answered and takes my call!!

Lovely hotel but a little lacking
I booked our 4 night stay at the Madison, via Priceline.com. I had never visited DC before and after looking at the hotel website, I was very excited to get to stay at such a lovely hotel. Upon arrival, we were able to check in early and staff was very friendly. Our room was delightful…the view was nothing to write home about…but the flat screen TV was great and the beds were very comfortable. However, things seemed to go downhill from there. Our room was lacking the many items that were listed on their “room amenities” list, including robes, a coffee maker, and drinking glasses. After 3 days, our room had not been cleaned, even once, but there had been evidence that housekeeping had stopped by…new bathroom amenities had been tossed on our desk. When we called the front desk, we were told that it would be cleaned immediately, so we left the room, and returned an hour later and nothing had been done. When we approached the front desk, they were unsympathetic. Finally, our room was cleaned, but we weren’t given towels, or even toilet paper. Also, when I approached the front desk to borrow their listed “use of complimentary umbrellas”, the woman at the front desk was very rude and told me that they didn’t have any and they only give them to guests. When I informed her that she was the individual who checked me in 3 days prior, she just stared at me...and when i asked the doorman, he gave me two...so they DO have them. I do have to say, the Doormen and Concierge were WONDERFUL and very helpful.

OUTSTANDING for under $200
there are better hotels nearby, if you have another $300 to spend per night.

The best hotel in Washington!!
Never before have I encountered such professional, courteous, genuine staff as I have at the Madison Hotel. You really are made to feel at home in all areas of this property. Ambience abounds within every square inch of this hotel. I couldn't imagine any better experience than the Madison. They also have a former White House pianist, Robert Smith, entertaining in the lobby Monday through Wednesday. Who could ask for more!!

Not up to 5-star standards
As a former resident of the neighborhood, I had high hopes for the Madison. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Requests for service went unanswered. Laundry was not picked up despite leaving a bag on the bed and it was returned late. The shower curtain was crusted with mold. After complaining, it was replaced with a slightly less moldy curtain and the old one was left on the bathroom floor!

Affordable Luxury in the Nation's Capitol
The Madison Hotel is magnificant from the front to the back of the house. The hotel staff is great and is ready to take care of you. Upon arrival the the minute you step foot into this great facility you are taken care of. The food was good and severed to meet the palate of one's extravagant taste.
