A true boutique experience
Great location, great rooms, awesome staff. Really, there's nothing I didn't like about this place. Not only would I recommend it, I'd stay there again. Seriously this was exactly what we were looking for in a hotel experience.

Great place to rejuvenate after a cruise!
My husband and I stayed here for a day after a very active and tiring 7-day cruise. Upon arriving on a Sunday, we were greeted with the ethereal sound of prayer coming from the cathedral across the street. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous vaulted ceilings and arched doors and windows. Even though the building was old, the amenities were up to date. The room had a flat screen TV, two phones, a fridge and a safe. The view from the room was of a beautiful courtyard. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the toiletries were a treat. We ate at the patio restaurant twice (once for lunch and once for breakfast) and were very happy with the food both times. This hotel was a little pricey, but we were so happy with the experience that we don't mind having shelled out a few extra dollars. We will definitely stay there again if we ever return to San Juan.

Absolutely Beautiful!
From the minute we pulled up until we left everything about our stay was incredible! The location in Old San Juan made it possble for us to enjoy walking around the city or we could just enjoy the beautiful architecture of the hotel itself. The room was great with views of the city and the water. The staff was curtious and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice hotel
I stayed here for 4 nights. It was very nice hotel. I read on other sites about others who had problems (overcharges, lack of service, etc.) but I had no problems. The hotel staff were very friendly. It is a bit on the expensive side, but it was definately worth the splurge. I hope to stay there again.

spend 4 lovely days and looking forward to the next trip back to Old San Juan at the El Convento
Like? Loved every mojito moment with the great staff at the Hotel El Convento. From the gals at the front desk, the warmth of the wait staff, to the barkeeps upstairs...you guys rocked! Much thanks to all, especially Lucas at the el picoteo. Thanks, bro! Concepcion, muchas gracias for keeping me cool with lots of Concepcion Especiales. We had a large group that weekend (50 or so) and all were taken care of. We shall return.

Value Vs Splurging
What we liked was the Old world feel that the cozy boutique style hotel brings. The History of the Convento extends back 3 centuries. Its almost a shame that its a hotel and not a museam or still a convent. I consider it a good splurge but at $240 or so a night USD it needs a few more features. But service and the helpfullness of the staff make up for it. The staff was quick to redirect us and secure transportation to and from plus make appointments. But I truly think if you are going to visit Old San Juan the Convento is the way to go. So in short the Food delicious, the Room comfortable cozy and clean, the location location location its all about location a draw back internet was slow. But you are in paradise sip your mojito and check your mail then go do some nothing next to a beach or soak in hot tub. R and R my friends.

Poor and expensive parking area, Expensive restaurant, poor entertainment activities. Cleanliness was perfect and personnel well trained and corteus. A perfect pool and perfect place for vacatio. Also poor activities fo childrens.
