Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 02 2009 When we do go back, we're staying here again! Upon arrival at the hotel we found the staff to be cordial, friendly and efficient. We loved our oceanfront views and the prestine beautiful beach. Other family members were staying at the Hyatt, but in comparison the Marriott hotel felt more cozy, less populated and not overrun with children. Many people cab to this hotel for the Casino and live bands. The bus outside hotel can take you directly into Old San Juan where you board a free sightseeing Trolley. Outside the hotel one can stroll the main street to easily find various cuisines from Thai food to Wendy's. We kept returning to Cafe de Angel for amazing Pasteles! We can't wait to go back to San Juan, and when we do, we're staying here again!

DON'T LET SOMEONE'S BAD REVIEW TURN YOU AWAY BECAUSE THEY STAY WAS GREAT AND I WAS THERE FOR 5 DAYS AND 4 NIGHTS. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE RESORT TO SOMEONE ELSE. I WILL ALSO BE GOING BACK TO STAY THERE SOON!!!
Reviewed by: Sherrie from on Sep 04 2009 Great Place, but one thing to watch out for Overall this was a great place to stay. Check in time is a 4:00 pm when I arrived it was about 3:30 so I knew I may have to wait. Well by 5:00 I was still waiting. Did not get my room key until 5:30 so because I was not able to get the room by the guarnteed time I was given a $50 credit. No problems at all with the hotel. I had a beautiful ocean view room. One thing to watch out for is the scam artist that frequently walks up and down the block in front of the Starbucks directly across the street from the hotel. He is dressed very nicely and speaks english. When he approaches you he will tell you a story that he was in a bad part of town, was roughed up by the locals, had his wallet stolen, his dad was beat up pretty good and is actually at the hospital and so he came back to the hotel to cut their vacation short, but he needs some money for the cab fair to get back to his dad. I actually read about this scam on another hotel review website which is why I didn't fall for it. The guy actually approched me on a Tuesday I sat in Starbucks and was entertained by all the people he approached. As soon as some one gave him "cab fair" he disappeared. However because I was in Puerto Rico on business and had a longer stay I saw the same man same block four days later. He actually approached me a second time with the same story. I laughed and told him I know your story and no I am not falling for you scam and I walked away.

Reviewed by: sexyazz4days from on Mar 23 2009 Best Place to Stay in San Juan Area My family and I go to PR all the time. We've stayed in many places. This October was our first stay at the MSJR. Our Oceanview room was great. The gym was good. Staff was awesome! The bar and casino really jammed on the weekends. The location is the best! Close to OSJ, Plaza las Americas, airport, etc. In the heart of Condado, we walked everywhere. Hotel was clean, the pool was nice. Beach was clean, and chairs always available. We never ate at the hotel, so I cannot comment on the food. We did order a poolside lunch, which was good. There are too many other local places to get your grub on, and much cheaper too. The arcade/game room is the only complaint. It was very lame. There is not much for young teens or kids to do at the resort. We'll be back in the summer of 09', and will look to book here first. Plan on spending some green...it ain't cheap, but it's worth it.
Reviewed by: tee rizz from on Nov 05 2008 Marriott San Juan Resort Absolutely Delightful Just returned from 4 days there. It was a "girls" getaway, Mom's 70plus and the sisters/sister in laws in our 40's. We read up on the many reviews before our trip and we were just extremely pleased with the resort property, beach, casino and friendly, helpful staff. We arrived about 3:30pm after a 10 minute cab ride from the airport and check in was flawless, our rooms were ready and spotlessly clean. We were on the 19th floor oceanside and the views are tremendous. The room decor is subdued but the beds are extremely comfortable and everything was in workng order and CLEAN!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 05 2008 Everyone deserves a second chance Arrived on a Saturday around 1:30 p.m. and to my surprise our room was ready. The view (ocean front) was absolutely beautiful! The room was a little smaller than expected, but looked just like it did online. Turndown service could have been better. The cafe bar was good, Vista buffet was a little over priced. Couple guys from the beach resort were a little lazy. Casino, was ok, don't expect the whole Vegas experience. Hotel staff was very friendly.
Reviewed by: mareah3 from on Jun 29 2008 BEWARE! NOT A TOP NOTCH MARRIROTT! I'm not a complainer, I always give every benefit of the doubt, and we are regular Marriott travelers. We arrived at 1pm Sunday, Front Desk had no idea when our room would be ready. We asked if it would be as late as traditional 4pm, and they could not answer, but made it sound like it would be soon. It was 6:00pm.and I had to keep asking every 30mins when is the room going to be ready. It would be better service if they could say it would be several hours, so we could have planned an afternoon instead of wasting valuable time assuming it could be any minute. We waited in the lobby for awhile and sit by the pool. Ooooh they did give me a $50.00 credit to the bar for waiting so long. That will pay for about 5 drinks.
