Back to Doral Resort at Palmas Del Mar Horrible experience I went there for a weekend with my mom that has limited mobility and when I got to the hotel at 3:00PM which my reservation was made a month prior, the room was not ready and a wheelchair was not available. The supposely handicapped room that was given to me had a tub in which I had to help my mom get in. There is no entertainment at this hotel and only one place to eat in which the cost of food is extremely high. The only place to see at the hotel is the casino. Also, a small path that is suppose to take you from the pool area to the beach, is half way not accesible to the wheelchairs. This was a horrible weekend at this place. If you don't have a car to leave the area of Palmas, you will be spending all your money in fancy food that not everybody likes.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 30 2008 wonderfull stay despite all the bad reviews We went here recently for Valentines day and had a great time rooms were very clean friendly staff very helpfull and the pool and beach 2 minute walk were great nice waves at the beach and very clean pool jacuzzi also would of been better if there was more nightlife there as only music in the courtyard .
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 02 2008 Don't listen to the negative reviews! I read the terrible reviews before my trip yet I went with an open mind. I was worried about wet carpets, water stains on the ceiling, and peculiar odors in the room. I did not encounter any of the above problems nor did I have any problems with the staff. Everyone was very friendly, from the front desk staff to the grounds keepers. The restaurant food was good and the prices are comparable to any hotel restaurant. The beautiful and relaxing beach is about one city block away. Everything else in the resort is far away, so plan on renting a golf cart. Off-site restaurants also deliver to your room. The only negative aspect is the absence of elevators. You may have to climb 3 short flights to get to your room. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely stay at the Four Points again.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 06 2008 Consider Alternatives Before Booking at this Hotel First let me say that I am a Starwood Platinum member, so I have a pretty wide basis of comparison. Beware of this place. The Sheraton Four Points at Palmas Del Mar is not a place I would recommend. The services is very subpar (pool bar frequently did not not hamburgers or hotdogs for kids from the moment they openend) and the facility overall is dirty and in need of significant renovation. The Palmas Del Mar area while pretty, is not a place to be if you are looking for somewhere to go where you can stay at a nice hotel/resort and frequent decent restaurants/night life. If you are intent on going to Puerto Rico, consider all other places before booking at the Sheraton Four Points Palmas del mar.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 02 2008 the worst This is one of the worst hotels that we have ever had the misfortune to use. We actually own a villa in Palmas del Mar and our overflow guests had to use the hotel. Unless the hotel can be substantially overhauled, it will be out of business soon. The staff act like they are doing you a favor by being at work, complaining to the manager (Patrick) did no good. And this was after we had spent considerable amounts of money at the pool restaurant and casino. We will take ourselves and our guests to other hotels to experience Puerto Rican hospitality. And did I mention Sebastian's the restaurant in the hotel? It is dirty and serves inedible food for very high prices. Sheraton needs to go to El Conquistador in Fajardo to see how to treat guests to a "caribbean resort". This hotel is causing property values to go down and I have to send my guests to another resort if I can not accommadate them in my villa. I will never book anyone here again for business or pleasure and certainly never recommend it to anyone. It was embarrassing. Oh, and any plans to have a wedding reception for 200 people in the hotel are now out of the question.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 10 2007 It's a beautiful Hotel, but... I stay in a Suite which was very expensive. The room was extremely humid; there were drops of water coming from the ceiling in front of the Suite and the carpet in the room was soaking wet. The hallways outside were wet. There was no place to eat breakfast only Davids Cookie. The restaurant in the Hotel is very expensive and dont offer any quality in the food or service.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 26 2007 Enjoyed the week!!! Stayed 04/07 with two other couples - we all had a great time. Two minute walk to beautiful beach with free lounge chairs, cantina/bar, etc, swimable & surfable ocean. Rooms were clean and comfortable with premium coffee (I usually won't drink in-room coffee!) and high-speed WiFi.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 16 2007 Once was enough! While this hotel is located in the very pretty Palmas Del Mar resort, it clearly caters to a more local clientele. Rooms were very clean, but noisy during the weekend stay. I had to call the front desk to have them quiet down guests in other rooms. If you like golf, the two courses at the country club are of good design.Outside of golf, chartered fishing boats are available at the marina. Not much for kids to do outside of hanging at the pool. The food at the "Sebastian" Four Points restaurant when we went was awful. I ordered grouper that took way too long to prepare and tasted like french toast without the syrup!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 06 2007 Only stay cause I have to My firm has a corporate account with the hotel, therefore I have no choice but to stay here when traveling on business. The hotel is beautiful. Don;t let them upgrade you to a room in the main building where the casino is. Very noisy, and dark. None of the other buildings have elevators, therefore if you're on the third floor, good luck. There is 1 restaurant, which is always empty, the food is mediocre, the service is horrible. Better of eating at one of the restaurants near the marina. Breakfast....microwaved food at high prices. There is 1 pool, a private beach, and there seems to be lots of locals who have nothing better to do than hang out in the hotel at night. Tons of teen near the casino entrance. Very expensive, not worth the cost. Stay in Las Piedras instead, or drive 40 minutes from San Juan
