My husband and I stayed in a hotel downtown, not on the Hotel Zone, and found Tacolote one day wondering the streets of Cancun. We ended up eating here everyday for the rest of our stay! The price was great for the wonderful tacos they served! This is what REAL Mexican food tastes like! =)

My boyfriend and I were tired of the expensive restaurant chains on the Hotel zone, so we took the bus to downtown and discovered this gem of a restaurant! The food smelled so good when we walked by, so we decided to give it a try. It is on a street called Yaxchitlan. If you like seafood, you must have their ceviche. I've tried it in many other restaurants and this one is by far the best. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was perfect. We also had the fajitas and they were fantstic. The meats and vegies were marinated and grilled to perfection. The prices were also reasonble. For two entrees and two drinks, we spent about $22.

I have dined at this delightful place more than 20 times. My favorite waiter is Silvio (a very small man) who is constantly smiling.
