Climbing down a flight of stairs transports you to this warm, sheltered tavern reminiscent of neighborhood spots that graced the streets in days gone by. Opened in 1997, Black Dog Tavern is a favorite of the younger crowd. Walls painted a warm shade of red bring the mahogany-colored stools, tables and chairs to life. The comfortable setting invites lively conversation and laughter. Pool tables and dartboards are strategically placed to allow some friendly competition without overtaking the bar. The bar features Black Dog Ale from Colorado, in addition to other varieties bearing the tavern's name. Music is another subdued feature: Sunday night features a jazz jam, while thursday is reserved for an open-mike amateur's night.
