great dowtown location
We stayed here prior to our cruise. This hotel was within a short walking distance from Hard Rock, shopping and Starbucks. Great downtown location, and this will be our San Juan hotel from now on. loved it.

Comfortable Hotel in Xcellent Location
Hotel Milano is perfectly located on Calle Fortaleza near shops, historic sites, and restaurants in old San Juan. Hotel staff are helpful and the hotel lobby has an air of “old world” charm.

Ideal location/ great value
The Hotel Milano is located in the heart of Old San Juan. As for location, this place is ideal. It is in close proximity to other sites, making this hotel a true value. You can go for a late night drink next door, shop for clothing across the street or eat at several restaurants and never have to walk more than a few feet. The rooms are clean, although in need of some decorating updates. Service was overall good with exception of one desk clerk who was quite unpleasant and unhelpful- more than once. Management could do themselves a big favor by stressing some customer service skills. We especially enjoyed the continental breakfast served in the rooftop restaurant. The breakfast is basic, but the view is spectacular. I recommend this place. At at least half the cost of the more expensive chain hotel rooms, this place is a real bargain.

Amazing Value in the heart of Old San Juan
I stayed two nights prior to my cruise at the Hotel Milano and was happy with the service and amenities and thrilled about its location. In my search to find any hotel under $300/night and having previously visited old San Juan and knowing the area a little, I was thrilled to find the Hotel Milano in the heart of the old city for a more than reasonable price.

Better than the cruise!
We LOVED the location. I had done my research, as we wanted a 2-night stay in Old San Juan, prior to our 1-week cruise out of/into San Juan. We wanted to spend 3 days just exploring Old San Juan, since we were traveling that far (spending the airfare $$ from Washington, D.C.) The Hotel Milano was the perfect place from which to do that. We had 2, 4th floor, front rooms, as my elderly mother accompanied us on this trip. On the Thursday night, all was peaceful, quiet and pleasant. On Friday night, Old San Juan (and the street, and the nightclubs below)"came alive"--until around 4 a.m. in the morning! Pretty much, not to the hotel's fault, it was rather too loud to sleep well.

Milano!?
My husband made a reservation in this hotel 6 months ahead of time for two rooms with two double beds. The clerk gave us confirmation numbers and assured us that everything would be taken care of.

We will never go back to Hotel Milano
We stayed at the Hotel Milano in July 2006 on two different occasions. Both the service and room fell short of our expectations: 1) the rooms were small and stuffy; 2) the TV had only one clear english speaking channel; and 3) the remote control for the TV was broken. When we brought our concerns to the staff at the Milano Hotel, they were not responsive.

My thoughts on this hotel...
I really liked this little hotel. I thought that it was safe and secure and in a nice little section of old San Juan. The front desk staff was amazingly helpful and friendly.
