This large, sedate park in the south-west of Berlin provides the perfect respite to a hard day's slog through the hectic inner-city. One can admire the English gardens and a collection of flora from all over Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. It is also worth taking a look inside one or two of the huge tropical greenhouses. Visitors shouldn't miss the unique Botanical Museum at the entrance.

Wege zu Darwin–Pflanzen, Mannigfaltigkeit, Evolution, coinciding with Darwin's birth anniversary, is a festival of his works on botany and allied branches. This year long event will showcase readings, lectures and tours through the museum. Darwin's phenomenal work in this branch of science would be the central theme for all programs to be conducted during the event.

An exotic cocktail in the humid tropical greenhouse of the Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum or cutting-edge art in the Galerie Wohnmaschine? Everything is possible during the Lange Nacht der Museen! Inaugurated in 1997, over 100 museums, galleries and cultural centers open their doors until midnight to the public every year and present their regular exhibitions in conjunction with artistic performances.
