Romney Manor Estate is a nine-acre gem perched 500 feet above sea level upon the slopes of a dormant volcano. This lovely old sugar plantation has been transformed into a batik factory where you can see how fabric is hand-waxed and dyed. The gift shop carries all of the products made on the premises. Items include dresses, pareos (island wraps), T-shirts, shorts and tops. Shop for children's and men's shirts here, and bathing suits as well. After visiting the shop, it is time to stroll the estate's breathtaking botanical gardens. Here you will see many local flowers such as the canna, cheneille, firecracker, ginger and many more. A short walk up the hill will place you at the entrance to the tropical rain forest. There are trails to follow, but it is recommended that you take a guide with you. You will see guava, banana, mango, and papaya trees. Keep your eyes out for the monkeys. Romney Manor is not to be missed.
