Back to Clarence Hotel I think i found what i'm looking for!! Ok it is a cheesey title, but Bono from U2 owns the hotel.. I stayed here recently and we had such a great time. The location is fantastic right in the middle of where everything happens in Dublin. We had a great room with a balcony, the dinner we had in the restaurant was the best we had in our entire time in Ireland. A must is also a cocktail in the octagon bar, amazing. This with the fact that i bumped into Bono & REM in the bar made my visit extra special.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 11 2007 Great Hotel This has to be one of the best hotels in the world for service. The staff are amazing. The hotel itself is nice and comfortable, a very contemporay and simple design. the besdrooms are of a fair size with huge comfortable beds. The Bar has some great cocktails and they have a brillant restaurant that does a very reasonable early bird menu.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 17 2006 Quiet island in Dublin city centre I've stayed at the Clarence hotel in January and was positively surprised by it. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was absolutely fantastic. The Clarence Hotel has it all for me.. Luxury at human size. The size and the situation of this hotel make it the ideal place to enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay right in the heart of Dublin city centre. It is indeed very close to Temple Bar and a few minutes walk to the shopping district. And if you can't stay there don't hesitate to enjoy a cocktail at the Octagon Bar, they are absolutely exquisite.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 20 2006 Great independent hotel in downtown Dublin The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. It is right in the heart of Temple Bar, near shops, bars, restaurant and farmers market. The building itself is old but the decor is very modern. Rooms are average to small in size but tastefully decorated. There's a popular bar downstairs as well as a "study" for quiet time - reading, working etc. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The hotel has free valet parking which you will need because parking can be tough in the center of the city. Prices are definitely lower than the advertised rate. I paid 200 Euros.
