The Old Town Hall is a very beautiful building that dates back to the Middle Ages and is entirely constructed from bricks. Construction began in 1453 and the building itself reflects a late Gothic style. The gables are especially noteworthy and the "Fratzenkopf" carving tells the story of a cheeky boy who, as a punishment, suffered petrifaction of his impudent grimace. The Old Town Hall was restored from 1878-1892.
