Fantastic place! Best meal so far in UK
We really enjoyed our visit to this little place - so much history and wonderful people. We went to look at the museum first (recommended by local bus driver) but decided that the famous buns smelt so good that we should do the feeding first. Buns were amazing - I had a sandwich made with the famous bun (more of a bread - dunno why it is called a bun) which was very fine but my friend had a bun with cinnamon butter and clotted cream for early lunch (I think they called a Jane Austen cream tea) which is great because they sell it all day it seems - not like the pump room (beautiful room next to Roman Baths) who insist you eat what they say when you don't want and it is so much more expensive - we calculated almost double the price of sally Lunn's! Anyway just great food so we came back for dinner (after long walk (best way to see bath is on your feet) and visiting Sally's museum which is neat and quick to see) and had the Sally Lunn early evening menu which was 2 courses and a glass of wine for £10 which let me tell you is very cheap in Bath! Do go and tell them I sent you!
Would you recommend this to a friend?
Yes
Why? / Why Not?
Unique and good food - very good value (especially the early evening menu) and friendly not oo stuffy service
