got married here
I got married here but we stayed at another hotel but from what I experienced the place was very high class, clean and beautiful...the only downside is that there beach is very small but the pool is huge and unique. the hotel restaurant is expensive but the food is excellant. the rooms look big and our wedding planner Fiona and the rest of the staff were very friendly, informative and helpful with any questions my husband and I had.

Barbados at Xmas
my mum, daughter and myself went to the Savannah for a week prior to joining a cruise all found the hotel to be very clean, the staff very helpful and the food in the restaurants excellent, although we ate out a few times in the evening. We also tried the room service which was also excellent. The only drawback to this hotel is the ocean which in front of the hotel is full of stones, from where I don't know, which makes it impossible to walk out in the water to swim.We took the courtesy bus down to another beach were the sea was wonderful. When ready to come back to the Savannah go across the road to the sister hotel, get changed into dry clothes and the receptionist will phone through to say you are ready to be picked up. I must say the setting and pool at the Savannah is the loveliest I have ever been to in all the hotel I have been to in the world.

Good overall, with one frustration.
I was surprised at how happy I was with the "Dr. Seuss" style arrangement, with stairs going up, down, all around, and paths leading nowhere...kind of left me lost, but keen on exploring.

Stay Somehwere Else, Like Another Island
The hotel staff is not friendly. I felt like all they wanted was a tip and for me to leave. No matter how nice I tried to be, the staff was completely rude. One person smiled back at me the whole time I was there...The gift shop is more like a gift closet, there was no sodas, tea or acceptable snacks available. The ice machine never worked. The safety latch on the door was gone. There where men living on the beach and I was accosted the first evening I arrived, right in front of the hotel...the roadways have few sidewalks so you have to walk in the narrow roads with cars speeding by. The water was not clear enough to snorkle. The plant life was beautiful and the swimming pool was very nice. The bed spread was stained and tv was awful. There were no water fountains to get a drink at. The doorman/bellboy was down right hostle. The glasses were not well cleaned and my drink tasted like what I ordered and the last person ordered mixed together. I was refused service by a taxi because I was wet. I didn't feel safe anywhere..... I would not return to this hotel or island..

Poor Service
The hotel is in a great location and I loved the actual building and layout. The size of the room was amazing - the bathroom needed an update. Sadly the staff, although very nice, were completely unmotivated and gave an incredibly poor service. This could be a real "gem" of Barbados but I understand it is being sold in 2006 and they have just let the place go.

we have to go back!!
The staff were helpful and welcoming, the pools are a great advantaage to anyone who wants to cool down! the beach is ok but there is a good one in walking distance. The free shuttle is well worth taking advantage of. All round feel was relaxed and charming. Can;t wait to return!!

Five Days of Paradise
The Savannah Hotel was excellent! The staff was polite, courteous and very helpful and attentive. The room we stayed in were comfortable and very clean. Hotel grounds were well kept including the pool and pool areas. Dining experience was delightful and tasty. We enjoyed a dinner show and you could not have asked for more!!!!! The food (flying fish was superb) buffet and the entertainment was excellent. We stayed at the Savannah from June 20-24, 2005. I am looking forward to a return trip. I would rate the overall experience as five star.
