Situated next to St. Ruprecht, Vienna's oldest church, Kitsch & Bitter is one of the most popular bars in town and almost always packed. Although extremely dimly lit, there is just enough light to spot the local lads and lasses grooving to the mainstream and chart music spun by the in-house DJs. The drinks are on the expensive side, but at least the door is 100 per cent free of bouncers. There is a huge screen for sports events and a big beer garden that is open in the summer.
