Back to St. Anthony Hotel DO NOT STAY HERE this is the worst hotel i ever stay. the rooms are old and dirty. the rooms smell nasty. the beds make a lot of noise. the lady who clean doesn't clean good. we stay there four days and she didn't even wash the toilet and the shower. the pool is old and dark because the lights on the pool doesn't work. overall this is the worst hotel . i would never stay there even if they gave me free stay.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 30 2009 Took a nice little road trip to San Antonio My boyfriend and I took a little one night road trip down to San Antonio this past weekend. We Stayed at the St. Anthony. Definitely an AMAZING bed! But that is about it. It was a nice place, but next time I don't know if we will stay there. But all and all my trip there was very special!
Reviewed by: erinmack from on May 19 2009 Awesome Bed...Location not so much! This was my third trip to San Antonio; I've always stayed in a hotel located right on the riverwalk. This hotel was about a 5-block walk to the Alamo and about two blocks to the Riverwalk. The room was a very good size for three people to stay comfortably. The beds were awesome, alot of pillows, down comforters, and Sealy mattress with the plush pillow top. This is one of the best beds I've ever slept on. The staff was not very helpful, each time we asked for information, we got nothing, or an 'I don't know'. The hotel is across the street from a park that is filled with homeless people. There were people sleeping on all the surrounding streets. At night, I didn't feel real safe walking back to the room. I'd say for families with children....do not stay here. I will not stay here again, simply because of the location and the surrounding area.
Reviewed by: Sunshine from on Feb 23 2009 Do you like antiques? Try sleeping in one. This Wyndham might have qualified as a 3 1/2 star hotel in 1948 but in 2008, I expect an ac plug or two for cellphone chargers and a computer.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 06 2008 Not recommended It's not my habit to complain, but for the price and reputation, I'm afraid the St. Anthony does not measure up. The hotel did not provide more than a single little bottle of shampoo, this for a four-day stay. Even after a call to the front desk, this was not amended. Even worse, toilet paper was not replenished. It shouldn't matter, especially when it comes to supplying TP, but I was in a suite, to boot. Overall, the St. Anthony is a bit creaky and creepy for my taste, but it's the poor service that will keep me away.
Reviewed by: Kathy from on Jul 20 2008 AMAZING Well we got there early one morning just looking at one of their basic double bed rooms. They allowed us to go look at the room before paying for one and after seeing the smaller size of the normal rooms we asked about a suite. They then gave us one of the nicer suites for the same rate as the basic room.. You actually feel like your stepping back in time. The room was very clean and very nice.. I would reccomend this Hotel to anyone in the San Antonio area.. We stayed two nights and had nothing but the best service all around from the front desk to the valet parking.. Will be returning later this year for another get away. ""We were in Suite 984 I highly reccomend requesting it..""
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 16 2007 Wonderful old house I enjoy old hotels, and the St. Anthony didn't disappoint. While modern enough to be comfortable, it has retained its elegance. While I didn't get to explore as much as I would like to, the condition was very good. Unlike a previous review, I did notice accommodations for the handicapped. The ballrooms where my events were comfortable.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 16 2007 Great service! Great location! We just spent 5 nights at the Wyndham St. Anthony in San Antonio. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. The staff was delightful and so attentive. Service was outstanding! We were a very short walk from the riverwalk, the Alamo and other attractions. Everyone there, from housekeeoing, to management, made us feel welcome. We will definitely go back to this hotel.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 17 2007 Service was Horrible The Hotel messed up my room.....and the room service was horrible. Had to call several times before anyone would answer the phone and I was in a suite that was not at all worth the money.....Parking was $20.00 which is too high...
Reviewed by: MONIQUE P from on Jan 03 2007 The worst hotel I have stayed in SA I have been to San Antonio 4 or 5 times and this hotel is the worst I have seen. I never post any comments on hotel-stay but this one is just plain bad. Yes its location is great (close to RiverWalk) but that's about all I can say.
