Back to Batavia Hotel (The) Dirty rooms, loud karoake music, no service The Batavia Hotel seemed liked a nice hotel at our point-of-entry Jakarta. It was a nightmare. Every night karoake music would play out loud in their patio that is connected to every room. Because of this construction failure music would travel upstairs and make you literally made. After 10 calls and 2 reception visits they admitted they couldn't do anything as it was a management decision to go on. The next day I asked my money back which they couldn't. The rooms were full of cigarette burns, dirty, the sink was broken, no mini-bar and a 'OK' breakfast buffet. Do not go there!
Reviewed by: Wouter from on Jun 08 2009 Worst hotel in recent memory The best I can say is that the showers were hot. The rest of the stay there was a disaster from the word go. There were no towels in either of the two rooms I rented. The carpet was dirty and worn. The furniture was full of cigarette burns. The hotel did not have room keys ready for either room. we did not get these until the next day. Terrible inconvienence and no compensation offered. When towels were brought, just two rather old bath towels. No hand towels, no washcloth. They charge an outrageous extra amount for wireless internet. The restaurant did not have any of the desserts we ordered when we went there for a snack before bed. They would not change my US currency because it was "old"...quite insulting! Then, they did not have enough rp to exchange a US $100. Terrible service overall. I cannot recommend this hotel to anybody honestly. Better to stay at the Borobudur or even the Ancol just down the road. The Batavia was at one time a very good hotel but management has let it slide terribly. Avoid this place unless you enjoy a stressful vacation.

Reviewed by: ellis from on Apr 12 2008 Worst hotel EVER!! There is a 24 hour disco/karaoke bar that literally rocks the the entire building all day/night. It sounds like your your on an airport runway from every room. I have never experienced a hotel as bad as this anywhere in the world!! Highly do not reccomend! The carpets are filled w/ burn holes and the walls are filthy dirty.
