It was ok.
I visited Kartchner Caverns (took the Big Room tour) about a month ago and went to Colossal Cave this past weekend. Can't even begin to compare the two caves or tours. This tour was boring and short. Very little info was given, tour guide walked and said nothing thru most of the tour. He also appeared to not like his job very much as his tone was a bit rude to the visitors. He didn't really explain the formations to people who may have never visited a cave before. And if I had not visited Kartchner first I would not have realized how beautiful a living cave was and what certain things looked like before because everything was covered in dirt. Although Kartchner requires reservations and is at least twice the cost of Colossal Cave it is a much better tour and worth every penny. I would pass on coming to Colossal Cave.

Parents Watch Out!
We took our 3 1/2 year old and he slipped on the steps. He almost fell down into a dark abyss. There are NO child guard rails on the numerous up and down stairways in the cave system. Parents be very cautious if you have a young child!

My favorite cave - hike.
I enjoy this cave more than any "wet" cave. Cave has a lot of history/stories entertainment. Lots of eye appeal.

Worth the trip
The cave tour was just like every other I have been on, but the area is great to hike in and the horseback riding was worth every cent. It is a great way to see the desert.

Deep Mysteries...
My family and I took the tour of the cave when my sibling and I were relatively young...too young to truly appreciate the 'nature-made' beauty. This tour is a 'must see' for anyone over the age of "10". The walking touritself is somewhat lengthy but the visualization and realization of "where you're at" down beneath the ground, deep inside the bowels of a cave. The rock formations are astounding and unusual and you'll be discussing them for days! The cave also contains deep mysteries and has its scary moments...just ask anyone who has walked across one partiular spot with the 'bottomless pit' surrounding you on both sides as you cross. One word to sum this up..."fascinatng"!
