This sophisticated place is traditionally visited by the Copenhagen bourgeoisie and the well-to-do. These traditions date back to the 1870s and they still make no compromises at La Glace. Their well-known slogan goes 'Cakes, art and love make hardship go away' (it rhymes, too, in Danish). The coffees as well as the cakes - not to mention the service; are exceptionally good. Real hot chocolate is served, as opposed to the second-class cocoa you get in most places. Every day there is a selection of 15 sandwich cakes, and special wishes are happily fulfilled if orders are made in advance. According to La Glace, anything is possible.
