The Old Cologne is perfectly located for tourists. Right near the Hauptbahnhof and across from the Kölner Dom - what more could a visitor want? Alt Köln presents an the authentic "Brauhaus" style, with an impressive façade which is best seen from the edge of the Domplatte. Time is kept by the ornate Glockenspiel clock. Inside, it is really quite comfortable and doesn't feel like the tourist trap that one suspects it is. Naturally they serve Kölsch here as well as Wieß, a cloudy, old fashioned Kölsch-type beer which is rarely found in other places. The menu offers hearty, meaty traditional German food like Haxen and Braten.
