Bermuda's greatest bargain!
My wife and I have been vacationing in Bermuda for years but only this year did we discover the Salt Kettle. Inexpensive, lovely breakfast, great conversations with other guests, lovely grounds, clean pleasant rooms, residents ducks, and Hazel, our gracious host. You can't do better than this lovely house. An added benefit was the close walk to the ferry but we did rent cycles. This place is an ahhhhh for the mind and the pocket book!

We've been at least 10 times
Have always had a wonderful experience. Mrs. Lowe makes you feel right at home, and works like a personal concierge to make sure your trip is enjoyable. The location is central, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the hospitality perfect.

Just what we wanted
Salt Kettle House is a rare find. It's comfy, quiet and positioned perfectly for getting around the island. Hazel Lowe is one of the most deft, personable and genuinely wonderful people you will ever meet. We wanted a more British experience and didn't require any of the fru-fru of the big resorts. Hazel told us where we should go and we followed her advice, which was flawless. Ever since we returned from our trip we have schemed as to when we will return to Bermuda - and SKH. There's no reason to go anywhere else.

Salt Kettle is a wonderful experience
We have stayed at Salt Kettle on our last three trips to Bermuda. Mrs. Lowe is an excellent hostess. We love the way she greets guests with the juice and recommendations for places to eat upon arrival. Everything is so comfortable and friendly and relaxing. We enjoy staying here so much that we consider hanging out at Salt Kettle part of the whole Bermuda experience. I will say that if your thing is tennis, golf, and dressing up for meals...then you would likely be happier at one of the big resorts like Fairmont Southampton or Elbow Beach. Salt Kettle is not a big resort...although I'm sure Mrs. Lowe can arrange tennis and golf for you...the atmosphere is totally different. The last two times we stayed there was this female duck named Lulu who "ran" the backyard. She was hilarious. Our son-in-law discovered she likes to be petted on her back...she was always running over to him for a rub. This is the kind of experience you can expect at Salt Kettle. Almost forgot...the breakfasts are wonderful. I can't wait to return.
