This exhibition at the Crawford Art Gallery, houses one of the excellent collections of sculptures by John Hogan (1800- 1859), one of Ireland's greatest sculptors. This 19th century collection consists of his creations including the statue of 'The Dead Christ (1832)' and 'The Drunken Faun (1826)' which were considered his masterpieces among the other sculptures. The Dead Christ is particularly striking for his use of a flawless carra marble and the exquisite detail that it shows.
