Reviewed by: Ron from on Nov 08 2006 Janary guest for five years Although the location is not downtown, it is close to adequate shopping and good restaurants, the Intracoastal and cruise ship piers. Much of winter clientele is cruise ship people. A pleasant 1-2 mile walk to the beach. Lobby is peaceful and pool is great. Lobby restaurant food very good and moderately priced. Rooms are spacious although interior is somewhat dated. Can hear street noise on US1 side lower floors. Concierge service is good, but you are often steered to their favorite places, which I found are not the best. I did better on my own. Breakfasts are hearty and free, as is daily happy hour. However, rooms are pricey in January, and with many hotels these days, you pay a stiff room tax and daily parking fee. Because of price, I will shop for another nicer hotel on the beach for less money next January.- Ohio
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 16 2006 Good location for precruise This hotel is in a good location for a precruise stay. It is close to shops, restaurants, and the pier. Breakfast is included. I have stayed here 3 times, it is currently undergoing renovation. The glass roof suffered some damage in the last hurricane and is patched in some places. Rooms need updating, don't overpay for this property.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 20 2005 They rip you off This Hotel is a joke. I'm a dimond member with Hilton and I have never stayed at a Hilton brand Hotel that tries to get every penny they can out of their guest. They charge for the use of their wireless internet service and their business center. If you stay here expect to pay for almost everything that is usally complimentray. The rooms look like they were decorated in the 80s; however, they are roomy. They have a good breakfast in the morning that is free but by the time you have paid for everything else you have more than paid for their one free meal. There are free drinks in the evening and I highly advise taking full advantage of this to help ease the strain on the wallet.
Reviewed by: Jonathan from on Jun 14 2005 Business Traveler Resort The ambiance in this hotel is very nice. Like most Embasssy Suites hotels, it has a center atrium where all rooms are entered from. The Atrium is full of palm trees, tropical plants and small waterfalls and looks like paradise. Each suite has a bedroom towards the outside of the hotel with a sliding glass door that looks outside and a living area towards the inside of the hotel with couch, kitchen table, etc. that has a big window overlooking the atrium. Wireless internet service was available for $9.95 per 24 hour period. It would be nice if it was complimentary, but I enjoyed it regardless...bringing my laptop downstairs and sitting in the tranquil atrium. My only complaint was the room service. I needed to get to bed early so I just ordered a Turkey sub thinking it would be quick. They lost my order twice and it ended up taking nearly an hour and a half to get a sandwich that wasn't very good anyways. The Restaurant Manager sent a piece of Key Lime Pie as an apology. It was good, but I'm glad it was free because it was tiny.
Reviewed by: Jeff from on Jun 11 2005 Always a pleasure to stay there Suites roomy & clean -- hotel staff warm & welcoming -- nice pool area -- year after year we return -- the large price increases each year, while other hotels around them have remained somewhat stable, do have us asking the question before booking... Is it to much? As much as we love staying there, we're getting closeer to the "yes it is" answer and looking into other hotels nearby.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 09 2005 Great Value OK first the bad. Yes they could use a profession to adjust the color scheme in the room..ie (SOFA) But, some of it works...ie (the bed sheets). The room service dining menus...needs a little help nothing seemed good. Anyhow, the room is nice and spacious with a huge bed. Free internet acess! The pull out bed in the sofa and tvs in both the living and sitting quarters allowed me to have a unexpected guest and still provide comfort for that person. Overall Excellent! I paid $174.00 a night...and I got what I paid for!
