Fabulous Hotel in Downtown Portland
While looking to purchase a condo in the Pearl, we used Priceline to stay in downtown Portland. The Hilton (3.5*) wouldn't extend our stay and the Hotel Vintage Plaza (4*) came up at the same price. What a deal! It was gorgeously furnished, clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the Pazzo Italian restaurant next door makes it one of our favorite spots in downtown Portland. Unlike the Hilton, there was absolutely no attitude from the staff at the Hotel Vintage Plaza that we were Priceline customers. We were treated like royalty. Our in-room breakfast was delivered exactly as ordered and was excellent. I'd highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Portland.

Don't stay at Vintage Plaza
When I arrived, there was a couple having a dispute with the front desk over their charges, a couple of days later, one of my colleagues had an unauthorized charge put on his card, and was dealt with quite rudely by the front desk. So watch out for your credit card here. Not sure what their deal is, but it seems a bit shady.

Perhaps if happy hour incl'd Propofol & Penicillin
On the plus side, it was a charming old place, well decorated, and everyone there was very nice. They do a 5-6 pm happy hour with complimentary wine/beer.

so noisy
We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and were pretty disappointed. We had no idea that they would be under construction, and there was dust and piled up furniture everywhere. It was not a relaxing environment. The walls are like tissue paper, and we heard our next-door neighbors very clearly at 3 in the morning every night (and they weren't partying or anything wild). The staff were nice, and quite helpful when the Riedel crystal wine glasses we had brought back from the Willamette Valley wine tastings went missing (we suspect the cleaning staff didn't realize that they were ours, and thought we had borrowed them from the restaurant or something).

Another Reason to Love Portland
Service is top notch, and each room I've stayed in has been unique. This hotel caters to a difficult mix of travelers. With its reasonable rates, I can use it for business...Its yoga channel lets me enjoy my quiet hippie side...And the quaint boutique styling eases a seasoned traveler.

Starlight Room!
Excellent service and great value for a luxurious "starlight" room. This room has an huge atrium-style window, and part of the ceiling is glass. I stayed there in the Winter when it was snowing, and it was very romantic.
