Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 05 2007 Keep climbing! After reaching the Piazzale, keep climbing to the church at the top of the hill: San Miniato al Monte. The church is lovely, but you also get the fabulous view in much more peaceful surroundings. (I actually hope that not many of you take my advice, because the lack of crowds at the top made it most special.) On the way down the hill, stop for wine at Fuori Porta.

All that beautiful scluptures, Michelangello`s statue of David, all that bridges...However people live in bridges, cause they seems to some kind of buildings Florence is the source of Italy, in many ways:in culture, wealthy, all historical happenings started from here.City of renesane, center of Europe.

Sitting on the steps, you have a panoramic view of Florence, enveloped in pinks, purples, and oranges. You're not bothered so much by vendors, but they are there if you should want to buy some paintings. Buy a gelato or take a picnic supper, and it's a free to cheap way to spend a delightful evening.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 07 2006 True Italian beauty! Piazzale Michelangelo is the most panoramic and amazing place to visit in Florence. Overlooking the Arno, the city and the rolling hills of Tuscany, this site is great for everyone. I recommend walking up to Piazzale Michelangelo from Porta Romana. It is truly an experience! The walk itself is amazing and definitely worth the time and energy! You can also get there from the number 12 or 13 bus. It is most beautiful to visit in Fall when the leaves are changing colors and the weather is still nice. Be sure to bring your camera and take in every minute of your experience in this peaceful place.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 13 2005 Piazzale Michael Angelo My husband and I decided to take a bus to the Piazzale Michael Angelo which we had heard was a Florence must see. We got off the bus on station Michael Angelo which is 2 stations before the actual piazza. After a little hike we got to this beautiful Piazza with a David Statue in the Middle and the absolute most beautiful view of Florence. I stood there and thought that Florence is much more beautiful from above. All the white buildings with red roofs and the Duomo in the middle of it all. It was the most beautiful canevas I ever seen. Best spot for pictures.
