cultural differences
yes i enjoyed lima.its interesting that a 3rd world country has multitudes of security measures that they have taken.to make everyone a sense of security. I think how you like a place depends on your expectations. you make the experience. perhaps it is necessary to abandon our filters and just enjoy THEIR culture.enjoy everyone

cherbony14_26_1986 is a lyer
what cherbony14_26_1986 wrote on 05/02/05 is 100% a lie. Maybe he/she went to the plaza de Armas with the wrong people. That place is one of the most beautiful places in South America. When you are there you feel like if you were in Europe.

Peru, is really something to see
WOW, this was really something to behold. We got there that day just in time to see the changing of the guard, at basiclly what was their equivalent of our White House.

Ok during the day, kinda sketcy later on
The Plaza has some interesting historical buildings and is sort of trying to be European. The catacombs just a few blocks off the plaza are interesting. However, the plaza is extremely crowded, very polluted, and it's not an especially pleasant place to stay. Which i think applies to Lima overall.

the truth
here is the truth plane simple if u want drugs whores or anything illegal go there to buy it. in the plaza u can sit down on the churches steps and most likly if u act like a tourist u will have pretty women coming up to u and they will say i love u i love u they just want a green card and they will flirt with u alot if u are a women then will do alot of "cat calls" never go with 2 peruvian girls and one guy the girls will get u drunk and put drugs in your drink and take your money and maybe your clothes and leave u in an ally somewere. i know this seems strange or bad but its the truth my friend john knowles had this happen to him when he went to the police they said he was the 5th one they had that day.
