Built in 1912 by Colonel Charles James Ward, the Ward Theater is the largest theater in the English-speaking Caribbean. It is a splendid Victorian-style structure with 836 seats arranged in three tiers. The middle tier, known as "The Dress Circle," is the best in the house. This theatre is an important cultural monument, where many local and international musicals, dance performances and other shows are held throughout the year in front of thousands of Jamaicans from all walks of life.
