The last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September are designated National Culture Days in Quebec; Montreal's Journees de la Culture has expanded to become one of the major events on the cultural calendar. The event brings together the public and various cultural groups in the city, while opening a dialogue between the groups and the public.
